We wanted to include 9 children (my cousins' kids) and our dog in our ceremony. We ended up having 2 flower girls, 3 candle bearers, 1 ring bearer, 1 dog escort, and 2 ushers. Our dog really didn't *do* anything - we just had one of the little boys walk her down the aisle and back. We really wanted to include her in some way though! In the program she was called "Best Dog".
We had to have her fly with us from Maryland to Oregon for the wedding, but it was worth it! (I understand Hawaii is a different story though - that stinks, but Hawaii is amazing!)
We also got a bunch of photos with her, which was a lot of fun. I hired a local college student/dog walker to help out with her all day. The dog walker walked around with us while we got photos taken so that we could have our pup join us for some of the shots. After the ceremony, she hung out with our pup in the bridal suite during the reception. We went and visited her a couple times and borrowed her for photobooth shots. Everything worked out great!
Our pup:

All the kids!

Our pup greeting us right after we entered the cocktail hour:

I got her a felt flower collar via etsy (poor girl has groggy looking eyes because I gave her a tiny bit of (vet approved) Benedryl since I was worried all noise would freak her out - it made her really sleepy though!):

A photo from the photobooth:

Visiting with her while waiting to sign the marriage certificate:

Leaving the hotel to take more photos:

Omg I am DYING right now your pictures are sooo adorable!!!!!!!!!! I litreally had tears!! It turned out really beautiful!!!! I'm so glad I got to see that, thanks for sharing!!!!
I would like to include our pups but our "tiny" dog is a 30 pound mutt.... the other 2 dogs are great danes. If we do include them we'll have to designate someone to take them home right after the ceremony or the pics (we don't need any dog drool on our nicely dressed guests!!) I doubt we will end up having them there but they are huge, it will be hot, and if one of the danes has to make a toodles it would be a disaster :/
We can't exactly include our cat in the ceremony, but we will probably put a picture of us and the cat in our program (well it's going to be more of a booklet that includes pictures than just a program).
No way! Our 2 cats are the loves of his life, but it would have been a nightmare! I compromised and included them on the cake topper (which now sits on our mantelpiece).

Obviously not a professional pic!
I wrote about wedding dogs for the Bee blog a few weeks ago.
Junior Mink is going to be in our bridal party...we were thinking of listing him as "Best Dog" as well!
I have a Pinterest board FULL of wedding dog pictures. I love collecting them!

The story on this one was funny. After the dog walked down the aisle, an uncle threw a ball, thinking it would send the dog away and keep him occupied. I don't think he considered that the dog was a retriever. :)

We are having Gizmo at our wedding. He'll be almost 4 at the time. I too will do the benadryl route only because of all the people.
And we plan on doing the little kiss picture too, only right after we kiss, then we'll pick him up and kiss him. :3
Oh my gosh you guys these pictures are so awesome!!! I love the bee!!!
I so wish I could get my dogs to Hawaii now... I love the picture of the bride holding the dog lol I SO would walk down the aisle with my little girl!!
And the one with the lab with the ball at the alter.. This made me so happy!!!!!!! =)
Me!! I specifically wanted an outdoor pet-friendly venue just so that Ginger could be there!! She's a Golden Retriever, and I have no idea exactly *how* she'll be involved...whether she'll be my escort down the aisle or if she'll go down first as my only 'bridesmaid' LOL I have no idea. I just know she'll be getting pretty and fancy with a new collar and she'll be right there on our big day!!
@MerryWidow: Is she a good walker?? Because my lab is a puller and I think she'd pull me down the aisle faster than I would want. I vote for her as a first bridesmaid and then maybe have a post in the ground near where you and your hubs stand during the ceremony and have her next to you or in between you. So jealous of you!!!!!!!
These pictures are great! I'm still on the fence about whether Bailey should be part of the ceremony or not. I like the idea of having him be a ring bearer, but I don't want him to bark or disrupt the ceremony.
@Bichon Frise: Do you have any feelings that you might regret not involving him if you dont?? Cuz if so, do it and I'm sure you'll be happy you did. My little one would probably bark too, but I dunno.. I'd still want to I think!
@mink: Okay seriously, that photo with the brown pup (maltipoo?) is amazing. Absolutely stunning and adorable all at once.
I am jealous of you that can involve your pups. Our venue unfortunately will not allow it so they will be at home. :(
@Treejewel19: Well at least you get to see them right away!! I have to board my babies =(

If so, how are you doing it?
If you did already, post pics!!!!
We were thinking about having our little one be a ring bearer and the big one be a caravan of flowers for the flower girl... but now we are getting married in Hawaii so we can't bring 'em. I now want to live vicariously through my fellow bees!!! =)
