@CatyLady:  I prefer house parties as well, especially if I can sleep there! Last year we made no plans before 10pm on New Year’s Eve and I expect it will go the same way this year. I have no friends to invite me over and I’m sure not inviting us over to one of FI’s friend’s houses. So I’ll have to wait and see what he comes up with. And then the fail safe is to just trot on down to the local bar.

What I’m really afraid of is the lady who has Tuesday nights at work asking me to switch shifts with her. Too tempting to pass up being a bartender on New Year’s Eve. Holy money! But then I’d have to miss spending the night with FI. And I already worked on Thanksgiving…and I have to work Christmas Day.

@CatyLady:  Well, Christmas Day night. My shift is 6-close (we stop serving at 2am, kick the patrons out at 2:30am and I usually leave around 4am). I’ll be home for Christmas Eve, Christmas morning and Christmas dinner. I’ll just have to leave at 5:50pm to go to work.

We usually head to FIs family. There is usually a big ish family/close friends get together thing

Sometimes we end up doing Mari Lwyd which I find very very strange.

My friends and I decided for the first time this year we just want to have a small gathering – we usually go out or go to a house party! Everyone seems down to just hang out and drink and play board games this year, which works for me. Huge crowds, super cold weather and long lineups always sober me up and make me ready for bed lol.

@CatyLady:  I think my brother and I are going out of town to go skiing with a family friend’s daughter leading up to NYE and then going out the night of. I’m sad BF has decided he doesn’t want to go, but he doesn’t know how to ski and doesn’t want to learn yet.

Generally, I have spent time with family for NYE, but I’ve also always had fun when I’ve gone out with friends.

We usually do a house party with tons of friends and my parent’s and siblings. Last year, my parents hosted and all of us invited our friends.  It was tons of fun.

This year, we’re celebrating Christmas with my parents and siblings at their new house (3 hours away).

FI and I are being extravagant this year… We’re going to NYC to see his favorite band, Phish, at Madison Square Garden for 4 nights, culminating with NYE. It’s going to be expensive, insane, and amazing. 😛 But you’re only young once!

@ladyamalthea:  i had a friend that went to a NYE show at Madison Sq Garden and said it was one of the most memorable nights ever. What an exciting place to ring in the new year, sounds so awesome.

Op, we’re likely going to grab some dinner and then watch the ball drop with CNN. This was such a crazy year for us, I think we need a quiet moment of reflection.

Last year we planned to stay in, had my sweats on ready to stay on the couch. Well FI’s BFF called around 10pm , picked us up with a few other friends from high school, we got a hotel, went out dancing, etc, it was fun but I just want to chill lol Since we have our house this year we decided we will go out to dinner somewhere nice then stay at home. It doesn’t help that I still have 2 months until I’m 21 so we really can’t do too much lol

We have pretty set in stone plans this year-we’re getting married on NYE! Lol. Usually it is spent with family and/or friends. Last NYE we all decided to stay home and relax (we were a few days from setting our wedding date). My best friend said “We should do something really fun and big next year.” Check!

Don’t know yet. We usually go to a friend’s house party.
