Whoops, I meant to post this in FOOD. Is there a way to re-post it in the right category?
we aren't doing cake - - we're having a Pie Bar, here in the Pacific Northwest fresh organic produce is amazing. We're having fresh in season organic pies
I've been to weddings that have done the cake AND a different dessert. Maybe you can do that? You can do a really small cake and the tiramisu, that way no one misses out on the cake. I say this because tiramisu is a polarizing dessert, usually you either love it or hate (I'm an italian that hates it, go figure. But I'd be super bummed if there was no cake instead). We're doing cake and a dessert table with little cookies and pastries. And I don't think we're going to make a big deal out of the cake. Like, we'll do the cake cutting and make sure the photographer captures it, but we won't make the guests stand around and watch us cut it, we'll be really low key about it.
We are having a small cake to cut for show, but we opted for an icecream Sunday bar for guests instead!
I think we are going to do a small cake to cut (he insists) AND cupcakes for everyone else.
We did a two-tier cake and several seasonal pies (since pies are my fave). The guests went crazy over the pies, there wasn't anything left. There were a few pieces of cake so we got to take some with us. You should definitely serve what YOU want to.
We are doing Cold Stone Ice Cream Cake.
My Fiance and I can't stand cake or cookies and stuff like the that, so we opted for ice cream :-)
We didn't have cake - we had a very lovely fruit display thing. Fresh from Jamaica! Truthfully, I didn't even look at it, but i saw pictures.. looked nice!
We're cutting a small homemade cake, but having chocolate cheesecake and mini-pastries for desert.
We're doing the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table, cupcakes and ice cream (FI's must-have request)
no cake! we're having a croquembouche. it's a french dessert- creme puffs all piled up into a tower and drizzled with caramel. yummy!
We're doing a small cake for cutting with a petit four and individual dessert bar so our guests can have a bunch of options.
artbee - croquembouches are lovely! we love profiteroles and were definitely considering one.
No cake! We're having a variety of desserts. Some of the options are small cakes, but there will be no towering confection at our reception.
My Mom was insistent on a traditional tiered cake but I love the idea of having tiramisu!
I'd really like to cut a cheesecake and serve a dessert buffet with pies, ice cream, caramel popcorn, and s'mores. :)
We're not doing a cake :) we're having a chocolate fountain :) with lots of fruits and marshmellows to dip into it yummo! :)
I'm thinking maybe other sweet things on the table like slices... or something i'm not 100% sure of that yet
I'll be making a grooms cake to send over to him the night before the wedding so that he, my step son and his brother can enjoy it :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tiramisu. I definitely want tiramisu at my wedding. I don't know if it will completely take over the Cake spot, yet.
I'd love to hear what everyone else will be cutting/serving instead of cake!
