We're not! It's going to be a tux-free zone at our wedding.
Attire similar to what you'd see at kentucky derby. Outdoors, elegant, suit, but no tuxes.
I can't wait.
And I think everybody will have a blast!
Our guys will be in suits. We're having a garden wedding, so tuxes just seemed too formal for the venue.
No tuxes, our guys just wore simple black suites, white shirt, green tie. The only guy who wore a vest was the groom :)
We are also doing suits for our wedding! The guys love the idea of buying a suit that they can keep instead of renting one for the day that cost the same amount!
Oooh! Me too! We are having an outdoor ceramony and barn reception. Casual, comfortable elegance. The guys are getting their own suits, FI is looking for Heather Gray to go with his Dark Violet tie.
Probably no formal tuxes, but maybe tuxedo suits. I'll let FI decide what he wants to wear...
We're doing black suits. Some of the groomsmen already have them and I like the look of black suits better than tuxes anyway!
No tuxes at our wedding, either. Black suits for groom and BM. Still have to talk to Dad about his, but I think he will pick black as well.
We're a "Kentucky Derby" wedding too! I always said fancy sun dresses but comfortable and guys in nice jackets no tuxes but I love the way you stated it!
Yay! We're doing gray pinstripe vests and pants with blue ties. They'll look sharp! :)
I want to do tan suits, but I need to find a place where we can rent them for all the groomsmen.
We didn't even have a groom (it was a same-sex wedding), and the dude of honor wore a suit.
We're getting married on the beach so Navy sportscoats and tan khaki for the groomsmen and a Navy suit for my FI.
No tuxes for us! We had tan-ish suits that worked really well.
@Tulip61110 - Our guys bought "The Wedding Suit" at Al's Formal Wear for $125 or so. They now own their suits for cheaper than it would have cost to rent a tux!
My fi is wearing a linen suit for our beach wedding while his GMs wear a linen shirt and khaki pants!! I think our ring bearer will be wearing a khaki short suit or a seersucker suit, he's 3 and it'll be too cute!!
No tuxes for us! We're doing the beach wedding thing so the guys will likely be wearing khaki pants and some variation on a hawaiian shirt. :)
No Tux here! We are doing a beautiful brown suit, can't wait to see the guys all dressed up
We're not doing tuxes...only because 3 weeks before the wedding two of our groomsmen told us they can't afford the tuxes...Uh....way to tell me this three weeks before the wedding when you've had 10 flippin months to let me know....Ugggggg....
i personally hate tuxedos! i love how my fiance looks in a suit, so i'm insisting that the groomsmen wear them too=) i think they look way more refined!
Sigh.. that's what we originally wanted to do. I had a beautiful vision of gray suits or khakis with a blue blazer and blue j-crew bridesmaid dresses. Then we booked a fancy hotel ballroom for our reception and beautiful old church and just weren't comfortable with the no-tux idea anymore :(
We're probably doing black suits. I just can't see my guy in a tux, it's way too stuffy for his fun, easygoing personality! But it's up to him.. if he decides he'd like to wear a tux, that's cool too.
Fi doesn't want to rent whatever he wears - so, it will likely be a nice suit!
we're doingn tan "slacks," ivory shirts, and ties. no jackets. my fi's dad asked if he was supposed to wear his tux. he seemed upset when we said no. but we're very happy with our decision.
We will be doing black suits (FH wants to buy an Armani suit sooooo bad) we will just let the groomsmen wear a black suit they already own or buy one that they feel comfortable in
love the ky derby as long as t doesn't wear a blue suit! reminds me too much of a 70s prom. I really really want M to wear a grey suit with a blue vest and tie (to bring out the blue in his eyes)... we'll see... lmao!!
Fi wants to wear his black suit and that's completely fine with me - one less thing to worry about, be fitted for and buy. We're having a small outdoor wedding so renting a tux was never part of the plan but I am happy to see so many brides ditching the stuffy tux.

Yea, we're not doing dark colors. We're doing either a khaki suit or seersucker pants and tie.
I'd rather have our guys wear suits, but FI doesn't want to have to get them to buy suits, since most of our guys won't already have them.
I'm asking our groomsmen to wear dark brown suits (if they get whiney I'll change it to black). But here's the inspiration....

We're going the suit route as well. We're having a daytime wedding & I think a tux would look waaaay too formal for daytime nuptials!
My FI is going to purchase a nice 3 piece suit. He wears a suit every day, so we wanted something nicer & more special. IMO the 3 piece is a nice compromise between a tux & an every day suit :)
I would have loved to done suits, since we are having a daytime wedding, but FI really wanted to have tuxes, so we are having the Calvin Klein grey tux. It looks like a grey three piece suit with a bit of "specialness" to it, so I think it was a nice compromise.
