I'm in Scotland and it's officially 1 and a half hours until midnight and me and my husband are at home.  Anyone else staying in?  We, for some reason, feel so boring staying home with the tv on but just can't face going out.  Why is there so much pressure to go out? :(

I have never gone out on New Years Eve and have never felt the need to. Cozy couch,a nice drink(wine, beer, soda, etc),a blanket and a good movie. Oh and popcorn. Thats all I need. :)

My husband is at work and most likely won't be home at midnight. My mom is going out tonight to a singles dance so I don't really have anywhere to go. :(

@Earlybride: I suddenly don't feel so alone (my gorgeous husband aside).  Think you've just encouraged me to get the pillows for the couch :)

We're staying in--always have.  We're trying to save money, and there are too many idiots on the roads.

We're staying in.  We're making a huge turkey dinner (FFIL bought a turkey for Christmas but we never cooked it because we went to his mom's that day) and just gonna have some wine and watch the ball drop on TV.  I've never had a "good" NYE (one with lots of fun and partying), so I imagine this one will be no different.

I am picking up a babysitting shift until 9ish then coming home to my SO, we don't have tv, so we'll probably just watch some DVDs. I haven't really partied in the last few years, most of my friends are single and their fun times are different because they don't understand that I love to hang out with my SO and them together, especially when we're both free. We do live together but hardly get any time to ourselves so any extra time to just relax is nice.

@xshellx2003: Frown I forgot about those that would be working.  My mum's out tonight and it made me feel a little more pathetic.  Sorry to hear your husband is working.

Our tradition is staying home and counting down when the ball drops.  I've got a bottle of Moscato chilling in the fridge.  Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

I am staying in too.  I will probably work on my Save the Dates, have a glass or two if wine, and be in bed at normal time.  Too many idiots out and about on nights like this.  All of my girlfriends are single, so it's not quite as much fun to go out with them for big nights like this : )

Our new years passed, and we stayed in. We were invited to parties and had initially planned on going out to dinner but we decided to stay in.

    It was romantic and cozy!

@AudzinLuv: Yaay on the Moscato!  I wish we were staying in, but FH won't have it.  Not that we're doing anything big, just going to one of his GMs house with a few people.  I asked FH if we should bring our Moscato but we'll prob have champagne.

    Happy New Year!

FI and I are in a LDR and i'm here at his apartment with him only until tomorrow, so we're just staying in and going to have pizza and appetizers and watch a movie. drink some champagne. Last year, i had to work (i'm a nanny) and FI just came with me and we watched a movie on the couch. maybe next year, we'll go all out... :)

Me and the SO stay in too, but we host a party usually every year. Nothing fancy or too big, just our best friends. I make fancy drinks for all the girls.... this year is Exotic Cosmo. It's Pomegrante Liqour with Cranberry Juice and frozen raspberries for looks. I make tons of finger foods and dips and we just play with games on the xbox kinect which gets everyone up, moving and laughing :) I don't host many parties or people during the year, so its fun to make lots of food and drinks for the people we love dearly.

    Happy 2012 Bees!!!!

We are staying in. My little sister is with us, so it is just us three. We will probably spend the night watching season 2 of Community.

I'd rather sleep in on my comfy bed any day, rather than crash on a friends couch or floor

I'm staying in- SO is working tonight, and we're new in town and don't really know anyone- at least not anyone I would trust going out with on New Years Eve. I may end up getting dragged to my neighbors later though. I'm planning on having a couple of shots and playing skyrim all night.

He works at a lodge and they are open until 10 but it's an hour away from home so I'm really hoping the guys work hard to get out at 11. I didn't even think about babysitting. I need the extra cash and have nothing to do!

We're staying in and watching disaster movies (including 2012, lol). DH bought me some ice wine and we'll probably spend the whole evening in our pjs.

Nothing much really happens in our city for NYE so I don't feel bad at all for not going out on the town.

We are staying in.  DH gets home at 9 every night from work, so he is going to be exhausted and I am recovering from being sick :/  There will be many more chances to party.

Yay for seeing all these couples staying in!  We made last minute plans to go to dinner with live music, but now that I came down with what seems to be the plague, we're staying in, on the couch.  Going to try to make it until midnight though!

I'm working. Does that count? lol. Mr. Hedgie will be going over to a friends house so he isn't alone but they aren't doing much. It will just be the 3 of them.

We weren't planning on staying in, supposed to go tomy best friend's house for a party- and her dishwasher backed up yesterday and her wood flooring heaved! So now she had to make a claim and her entire kitchen floor is wrecked! No party over there, and it seemed like a ton of effort to make new plans, haha! Just going to do a late dinner out and drinks and call it a night.

Its lunchtime on the 1st of January here in NZ (1pm)

FI and I usually go out for New Years but last night we just had a quiet one at home.  It seems like heaps of our friends and family did the same this year!

Despite being summer last night was wet and windy so we didn't really want to go out to town so we got a few DVD's out and it was actually really nice having a low key new years with just us two :)

We were planning to go over to a friends home for fun and frolic, but I've had a sinus headache all day.  So, DH and I picked up a few movies and some popcorn for later. We'll see if I can stay up past midnight.  lol

    Cheers to a great 2012!!

Staying in - got some wine and are making dinner right now.  We picked up a puzzle a few weeks ago, so it's spread out on the table.  FI wants to drink wine and relax, and it sounded good to me!

We are having a few friends over for a mellow evening. We get beer, wine, a board game and snacks and hang out. We get a litttle tipsy and go to bed shortly after midnight. Fun, safe and cheaper. I had a hard time going from the type of person that went to the bar every nye to staying in but I can't even imagine how the bar was ever fun...LOL. Yep, we're getting old.

    @sexxysheddy:   Same here. *sigh*

We havent gone out for NYE the last three years. Kinda sucks because I always enjoyed the holiday but it's not really his thing. Too many crazies on the road and he's never been much of a partier. Staying in with the Big Bang Theory marathon, wine, and our little one. I love my little family but I kinda miss getting dolled up with the girls.
