Ok - so after I posted this thread the other day:

I came to realize that "cleaning" is one of the most prominant arguments most of us have with our SO...so I am curious now maybe I'll get a broader range with the poll...lol who in your household is the clean-freak and who is messy?...

just havin' some fun. :)

I take after my mother so I am the clean freak of the house.  My parent's house is so clean that they get compliments on how white the carpeting is. I don't think that SO is a slob, he just lets things lay where they are rather than putting them back in their place.

FI was a total cleanfreak when we met, but i've worn him down over the years and taught him my messy ways :)

we go in waves these days actually, sometimes i'm more clean-conscious and sometimes he is. it works well for us.

He is the clean one and I love it.  I have a clean house without having to clean it myself.  I sometimes feel guilty about it, but he has told me that he knew what he was getting with me and he was ok with that. 

EDIT:  We are both CLEAN.  I don't let dirty dishes sit out or let things get dusty or fail to wipe up toothpaste in the bathroom.  But he is NEAT and I am MESSY.  He has FILES and I have PILES.
