Mine is an ivory. I know, not crazy… but it’s not white. White didn’t look good on my skin tone, so thankfully my dress comes in an ivory. However, I also loved the champagne colored dresses I tried on!

I am wearing ivory, but I am guessing that’s not what you had in mind.  I am also wearing tea length, rather than long.  It’s a 50’s look.My 6 year old took this picture in my bathroom so nevermind the quality!

I have my heart set on a full knee-length, bright red dress with a white puffy pettycoat to make the skirt really full!

TinaNYC55:  Thanks.  I love the 50s too.  I could dress exclusively from the 1940s-50s and early 60s era.  Jacqueline Kennedy and Grace Kelly are my icons!

I am wearing an ivory dress. Looks much better on me and looks prettier with my coral. I also think Ivory is a great color for my beach wedding.

TinaNYC55:  Thank you! I got it made by Kim at Misdress. Her store is on Etsy.  But as a caution, if you (or anyone) orders from her I would fib about the date that you need it by… she tends to take longer then she says.  The original delivery date for my dress was mid-February and she didn’t ship it until April 22nd.  I had told her my wedding was in June but in reality it’s not until September.  On the plus side it’s very well made! There’s boning, lining and a petticoat. I can’t wait to wear it on my wedding day!

I’ll wear a purple gown as my reception dress. It felt weird to see myself in a white/ivory wedding gown, I never imagined I would get married one day and never dreamed about the white dress, it’s not a color I wear that much to begin with. I purchased a white pre-owned wedding dress, but felt dress regret soon after because I didn’t feel it was ”the dress”. I ended up purchasing a purple gown in which I felt absolutely amazing, but I felt guilty spending money over 2 dresses, even though they were both unexpensive (it cost me a total of 800$ for the 2 dresses). So I decided I would wear the formal wedding dress for ceremony/formal pictures (and it would please my mom and my FMIL who are more into traditional stuff) and after cocktail hour, I will change into the purple dress, that is lighter, more comfortable, and overall feels more ”me”, for the evening reception

.

I didn’t have a petticoat to wear underneath the dress, but I think it will look fuller with one.
