just wondering who everyone chose as their MOH... like sister, cousin, friend. my maid of honor is my mom- its different, i know but shes my best friend and couldnt imagine anyone else standing up their as my MOH.so whos your maid of honor? and why?
My sister. She's my only sister and we went through a lot of changes together growing up. We had kind of a dysfunctional family but we were always there for each other. I was her maid of honor last fall and I couldn't imagine having anyone else there for me. She has been such a huge help with the planning so far. I really value her opinion!
My sister is my MOH. Couldn't imagine having anyone else standing there next to me!
My best friend. We've been friends for over 15 years. She will be the only attendant (very small wedding).
I didn't have to ask her. She TOLD me she was maid of honor. LOL! We have a challenge because she and I are both older. She is in her 50's and a typical bridesmaid dress is probably not going to work. But, since she is the only attendant, I think we'll probably end up at Macy's or similar.
My Best friend - who introduced me and my FI :-D
my sister was. i only have one sister, we're very close, and i always knew she'd be my moh.
She's my "adult best friend." (My two childhood best friends I've known since I was 7 are my other two maids.)
Mine is my best friend, I have literally known her my whole life. We're actually not the best of friends right now and I don't have a ton of faith in her as a MOH, but it was politically the best decision. And, hopefully we'll be as good of friends eventually and I'll look back and be completely happy with my decision.
I choose 1 friend and 1 cousin. My friend introduced us and my cousin is very dependable and since she is married she will give me great advice.
my best friend :) known each other since we were 11. Wasnt a hard decision :)
mine is my sister. she was the first person to know we were engaged and I can't imagine having anyone else standing next to me on my wedding day!
My best friend from high school.
I'm an only child, though.
My maid of honor is my BEST friend and my little from our sorority in college. She is my other half...the sister I never had :)
I LOVE MY MOH!!!!!!!!!
My older sister. I seriously wish i'd made one of my other BMs MOH though. My sister has been next to useless so far. Makes me sad.
One of my sisters.
*Rabbit* - i'm so sorry, that situation can be so hard! Maybe the other BMs can try to take a larger role? Or maybe you can have a word with your sister and ask her if she feels she is too busy to do MOH duties and would she prefer to be just a BM instead.
Sideways rant - Do any of you get the feeling that some MOHs just want the title but don't want to do the work involved? What is with that?
My best friend from high school! I dont have any sisters!
I don't have one. I couldn't pick between my girls so they're standing in chronological order of how long I've known them. I guess my best friend from high school will be acting MOH since she'll hold the bouquet and hang on to the ring.
my sister is my MOH. i was hers at her wedding so i'm excited that the roles are reversed.
My best friend, we have been BFF's since 7th grade, she was the clear choice nobody better!
For my first wedding, my sister. For my second, my son and daughter were dude of honor and maid of honor.
My bff who I've known for over 15 years. My sister and I don't have an extremely close relationship, plus she has a toddler to take care of, so I didn't want to impose on her. I feel more comfortable choosing my bff because she understands me more than my own sister.
Mine is my best friend since 7th grade :) She hasn't been able to help much since she's busy and on the other side of the country, but she's always been there for me and I wouldn't have it any other way :)
I choose my best friend that I have knowen since 7th grade too (it must be a good time to make friends!!). It has been a little hard though because she got engaged after me and is getting married before me so we are trying to balance helping eachother and doing our own stuff.
Mine is my Best Friend who is more like a sister to me than a friend!
I was going to ask my best friend from high school, but then she told me she didn't even want to be a BM, she later changed her mind so is now one, so I ended up asking my sisters to be my maid and matron.
My college roommate/best friend. She and I met in high school and, as both only children, we joked that we would be aunts of each other's children and the sisters we've never had. She jumped up and down when she found out I was engaged and has been so helpful.
The older of my two younger sisters. The other sister is a BM.
My younger sister (21) is my MOH while my youngest sister (9) is going to be standing right there too.
Cute story: When I asked my 9 year old sister she said, "So, what does a bridesmaid do?" When I told her she said, "That doesn't sound that fun...why can't I be a flower girl so I can throw petals and stuff?!" Hahahaha
My MOH is my little sis. Sometimes I wished I had made my BFF my MOH, too. I should have had co-MOHs. I didn't know that was possible until it's too late. I hope BFF is not mad that she didn't get the MOH because she's been great and very supportive. Sis is great at times depending on her mood.
best friend since grade 7.....we have been in a long distance friendship for 3 years though
