Lol, well if you haven't searched for the other vendors yet- get used to it.  I have found that they all feel the need to incorporate strange elevator music.  Even my officiant has a website (which is weird to me in and of itself) and of course, there's crappy music playing.

Because it's WAY too expensive to buy anything good! :)

Music on websites always drives me nuts, and I hate that frantic search for the mute/pause button.... I strongly considered it, because it makes my opening slideshow more of an experience, but ultimately opted against it.

I know I'm always like, "ack, where is this coming from..!" then you gotta find the little speaker or cd looking icon and turn it off! Man o man.

I can't remember the site I saw, but one photographer had a really good Yo La Tengo song "On our way to fall" that I'll probably find a way to use in the wedding reception.

    Hahaha!!

I think I'd be into it if they actually posted a song(s) that the majority of people liked... something upbeat and NON-wedding!!! That'd be awesome!!

It drives me nuts too!  All I wonder is if they have purchased the rights to the music!

I think the worst part is you already have to wait for your computer to upload all the PHOTOS, and then it's trying to upload MUSIC.  Bleh.  I hate that the songs usually reset every time you hit the back button or click on a link.  I hope that it's a trend that soon goes away!

Haha I haven't experienced a lot of photogs in my area that do that! Weird... but having experienced it once, yeah, a little lame.

I have one of "our" songs playing on my wedding website, does that make me lame?

It's funny you say that b/c when we were looking at venues we only considered a few similar hotels in center city Philadelphia. Guess how similar they were - all of them had the SAME videographer do the sample wedding video with the SAME music! By the end of the day I was like "I can't hear that song anymore!"

I HATE music on websites! I'm not gonna lie, there have been times where I've crossed a venue off my potential list just 'cause I hated the music on their website that much. :-)

@amanda.lynn, me too!  And like, some photogs have pics of weddings that look like they took place in the 80's...not trying to be judgemental, but it just doesn't look good.

@labourofLove, ONE site actually had a song I liked, and it's not really by a well known artist so I did get excited then, I'll admit.  But I still turned it off b/c it was all choppy!  I just opened it in ITunes, lol!
