The post on BMs and Save-The-Date Cards made me thing about this one. I look forward to posts with pictures vs words, so I get confused as to why people constantly apologize and warn when they add a lot of pics to their posts.

I like when people say it’s pic heavy because it makes me want to look… I don’t understand the warning either though. Who doesn’t want to surf a bunch of cool pictures!?

I diidn’t think it was a warning, but moreso an “advertisement” for the post to make you want to look!

I hate when it says “pic heavy” and there is 1-4cpics!! That’s not pic heavy!!

Ha yeah I don’t get it. Or when I see the word: long… I usually don’t even read it lol

If someone is browsing from work, their phone, a slow computer, etc., the pictures may be something they can’t view. At work, it’s easier to get away with viewing text than a huge picture of a wedding dress. On a phone or slower computer, opening the post may cause the browser to crash or run slow. Also, not everyone has a high speed connection.
Also, when it says “pics”, it probably is also an advertisement for people who love to look (as others have said).

I’m going to guess that this warning has its origins in cautioning those who did not have broadband internet access. It wasn’t that many years ago when many people had dial-up internet, and pics loaded VERY slowly.

@Brielle: Yes, I’m so thankful those ANCIENT times are behind us. lol

Agreed. I LOVE the Bee because we can share BIG, DETAILED pictures. TK drives me nuts with postage stamp sized pictures.

I appreciate when people write pic heavy because it makes me want to look too. But my definition of pic heavy seems to differ from a lot of brides on here. I assume it means over 5 pictures. Some brides call “pic heavy” 3 pictures which just seems like a post with pictures.
