Does anyone else have legs (specifically thighs) that feel like they’ve been lifting weights all day? Between that and the back pain, I feel like I’ve spent the last few days doing some extreme snowboarding–not sitting on the sofa, doing some light cleaning/organising, and taking gentle strolls!
What on earth is causing this? Is my bump just literally getting so heavy that my muscles need to recuperate after minor excercise?

I guess I wouldn’t be surprised. My hips have been starting to feel like that

If I understood my physiotherapist right it’s caused by the bump getting heavier and that makes the pelvis roll forward which makes the thigh muscles sore.

Mine are doing the same! I went for a walk the other night and during the walk my back was spasming (felt SOOO awesome) and then the next day it felt like I had a huge bruise on my thigh and it kept hurting when I would walk. Ugggh I’m sure it’s probably due to just carrying around all the extra weight, our bodies aren’t used to it so new places get sore. Plus I don’t know about you, but I definitely feel in full-on waddle mode, so I’m sure that contributes to different muscles being used as well.

Your post is timely because I’ve been feeling the same way lately. A year ago I trained for a marathon which included fairly intense hill training and my legs feel more tired going up and down our stairs right now. I’m 26wks and figure it must be due to the extra weight that my body is carrying. It’s a scary thought though because I still have 14 weeks to go!

@UK Bride: I’m only about 17w and my hips have been killing me too. My mom said it’s the growing weight combined with the fact that the hip joints are loosening in preparation for labour. Mine’s probably hitting me early because I’ve always had issues with my hip joints being loose and even slipping sometimes. I’m sorry you’re in so much pain 🙁
