Why are there so many weirdos / lunatics / assholes on public transport?

You do know you are one of these people too right? Everyone smells to someone, everyone is offended by someone elses actions. Lighten up or use a different method of transport.

I find our public transport system to be crowded but otherwise full of fun lively characters that make my trip home more fun. but then again I like to people watch, so I guess that would make me the crazy person staring at you.

@aribanana:  Can I take a stab and guess that you live in the NT, because your post was pretty much my life before I bought my car!

@j_jaye:  I’m pretty sure there’s a difference between wearing way too much old lady perfume and smelling like a pile of dog poo! 😛

@aribanana:  Nope you are probably the crazy one sitting in a corner with their arms crossed looking pissed off at the world. I would probably be staring at you trying to figure out what in the would could be so devestating that you look like that. Being pissed about other PT users wouldn’t cross my mind.

Also I didn;t ruin your thread on a public forum open to anyone to share their opinion. As I said maybe you need to lighten up a bit.

@ksus07:  But some old lady and even young lady perfume does smell like dog poo.

I used to get that a lot while I was using PT but now I’m glad I rarely use it.

A few months ago a middle aged man used my thigh as a handrail on the bus, the real handrail was a few inches away from my leg, higher, and made of metal.

The ones that really annoy me are:

  • the ones who get on the train without purchasing a ticket and then get mad at the attendant when they come around to check if people have purchased their tickets
  • the ones that walk into the carriage with their music blasting out of their cellphone/boombox – BUY SOME HEADPHONES!! – and then get mad when they get told to turn it off

@j_jaye:  Yeah I suppose… but you need to take personal hygiene into account too!

Ahhh this is the perfect thread for my mini vent! Two days ago our train stoppped at a normal stop and didn’t move for half an hour, and we were all like WHAT is going on?!

Turns out some asshole punched the train conductor in the face because he asked to see his ticket. So not cool.

Also there is a man that wears a bandana and smells like wet dog, that gets on at four every day, and drinks two cans of beer on the train -REALLY? Nice, man.

It’s because usually people who are poor, have mental illness and drug abusers catch PT. You will get a higher proportion of those kind of people on PT than in other aspects of life, maybe save for the commuter times.
