how about blue dresses with purple accessories? Maybe if it looked good you could get them floral sashes from etsy that would give them a pop of purple?
@mcklough: These are the dresses so a colored sash wouldn't work
Btw this blue would be the shade of blue that they would all wear instead of purple.

Oh gosh. How terrible
. Look, if it was me, you have to go with a color you LOVE. If you can't envision yourself on your wedding day (and wedding pictures) with the bridesmaids in blue.... I would encourage you to go out looking for a dress in the right shade of purple. I know it's going to be hard work, and it sucks because everyone had already done all the work and picked the dresses, but I'm sure your girls will understand if you explain how you feel.
Try and think of yourself months AFTER the wedding if the dresses were blue. Would you have regret and think "this is not the color I wanted on my pictures", or would you be more "the color of dresses didn't really matter afterall, it all turned out really nice even with the blue".
Personally, for me, the color of my girls' dresses are very important. Especially if there are a lot of them.

I was extremely overjoyed when I got all the orders in for my bridesmaids' dresses, then I got a call from the salon telling me that they can't get my dresses in the shade of purple I ordered? Are you kidding me? couldn't you tell me this before you charged everyone's credit card??
Back story: My colors are blue and purple and I've been on an insane quest to find the perfect shade of royal purple. I'm obsessed with purple, my coat is purple, my laptop case is purple, cell phone case etc. My BMs are all wearing different dresses from the B2 Jasmine line, my maid & matron of honor are wearing blue & 4 BMs are wearing purple (well hopefully). The dresses originally come in a poly chiffon fabric, but the shade of purple in that fabric is too light (more of a lavender). The salon owner told me that we could pay $30 for a fabric change to cotton chiffon which comes in the PERFECT shade of purple (its bright and vibrant). Thankfully all my wonderful bridesmaids agreed to pay the extra $30 to get the desired shade of purple. All the deposits were in and I checked Bridesmaids dresses off my list. Fast forward about a week and someone from the salon called to tell that the company won't do the fabric change for ONE of the girls' dresses... ok fine... I called her and she chose a different dress. When I called back to give them the new style number, she proceeds to tell me that they won't do the fabric change for any of the four dresses... are you kidding me??? Why didn't you say so the first time you called??
Now my dilemma: should all the girls wear blue? Or do I go through the task of finding all new dresses again??? It took so long to find the perfect shade of purple in a light fabric, that I don't even know if there are any designers that carry the shade of my dreams. I just can't envision 6 girls in blue standing next to me.
Before I was even engaged or had the thought of being engaged I always knew my bridesmaids would wear purple. What would you do? Should I just suck it up and have everyone wear blue?
