Bad kitties! That's why we have no plants in the house!
Eek, hope they weren't poisonous to kitties! (I'm bad with remembering which flowers are beyond lilies.) But yes, cats have a way of getting into exactly what they shouldn't!
@lilyfaith: The flowers are now living on top of the fridge. I have no idea what's poisonous besides lilies but there are calla lilies in there. They haven't shown interest in those yet but apparently my cats are not that smart...
Check the flowers with a list of poisonous flowers! When a friend gave me a funeral arrangement, literally, EVERY flower in there was poisonous. EVERY. And they weren't even all lillies! SH*t. I'm scared to have flowers in the home cuz my kitties like to chew on them. They love baby's breath. Weird. The only place i can safely set a vase of flowers is the mantle of the fireplace. They literally cannot get up there. But ugh.
Wallflowers smell pretty, lol. Not the same, I know -=]. I buy "lavendar garden"
Silly naughty kitties
the list is huge: http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants.html
my kitty does the same thing! DH uses it as an excuse never to buy me flowers.
<sad face>
HAHA! My cats do the same thing. My mom is a florist and has 23 gardens so I ALWAYS have flowers. And always have chewed up & puked up flowers!
The SPCA has a list on their website: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/plants/?plant_toxicity=toxic-to-cats
I love having flowers but my cats like to knock the entire vase over and then drag them out and eat them. So not cool. So we eneded up putting a shelf up on a wall in our bedroom where the cats can't get to it. I don't know why we never thought of that before! We have put some frames and candles up there too.
My kitty does the same thing. FH bought me roses and the next morning my kitty came jumped on my in bed and cuddled up under my chin. I could totally smell the roses on her. When I actually looked at her I noticed she had a little piece of petal on her chin. Sure enough she had eaten a good amount of the roses. She didn't get sick and smelled really good the rest of the day! Regardless no more flowers for me!
our dog knocks down everything, so he gets me potted flowers that i can put outside.

I posted yesterday about the gorgeous arrangement DH bought for my birthday and how he normally doesn't buy me flowers. Well, this morning we were reminded of why not... the long grass stems in the center of the arrangement had been gnawed down till they were level with the rest of the flowers! Also, in a corner of the kitchen, DH found a small pool of vomit.
Naughty kitties.
