LOL this totally made me laugh. Its super simple to make apple sauce jar it then store in freezer and hand them out as gifts during the holidays???? An idea for a weekend activity
(although this is a great idea, I wanna note I'd never do it due to my laziness...)
Ohhhhhhh, apple sauce!! that is good stuff!
I was thinking about putting it in salad but that might be kinda gross, idk, haha
LOL! Attack of the Sale sigh huh? I don't eat cooked fruit...at all. So I would eat them as is, make candy or caramel apples, or can them for my daddy who does eat cooked fruit. Or pass them out at work =)
@JamaicaBride: haha, they get you with the signs, which are always in exclamation marks!
i totally did the same thing with strawberries a while back. I made a lot of smoothies. You could bring them in to work and share with your co-workers.
I put 'em in chicken salads, like at the one they make at Corner Bakery. And Panera makes the fiji apple salad which is scrumptious!
I don't like apples or apple anything, but when I saw this thread title, it made me think of why I bought all these apples from Pier 1 for decoration at $3 each...yeah, made me ask the same question.
Apples go really well with pork and chicken. I second the Christmas gifts. Jar up apple pie filling and attach a bag of oatmeal crumb topping with it.
This is too early, but I make adorable candy "pumpkins" for Halloween. Put a short skewer in the apple. Dip in caramel, then dip in white chocolate that has been colored orange with gel color. Paint on face with dark chocolate. You've got a mini jack o'lantern
. I also make a ghost version using pears.
Mmmm apple sauce for sure! I love homemade apple sauce! And I agree with the apple in the chicken salad, so tasty! Or you could put them in a regular salad like spinach, apples, walnuts, green or red onions thinly sliced, maybe some cubed mozzarella cheese, with a poppy seed dressing. Yum!
hahaha this reminds me of the time I wanted to go apple picking because it seemed "fun" ...it was fun but it was also cold and picking the apples was kind of hard hahaha. we filled two big bags, each bag cost around 40 bucks and I hate apples lmao.
YOU CAN DO CARMEL APPLES, APPLE SAUCE, APPLE WALNUT MUFFINS, OR EVEN BAKER THEM SPRINKLE BRWON SUGAR AND CINNINMON AND THEY COME OUR SUPER YUMMY!!!!

So obviously apples are in season. There is a mega sale at the supermarket so of course I run all up in there like a banshee woman buying up all the dang all apples cause I see the SALE signs. Problem, I don't even like apples all that much. I hate baking too. Sigh.
Now that it's fall, what are you guys doing with all your apples?
