Why did you choose the setting you chose.

I chose the cut of stone before I chose the setting style.  It went back and forth for a while, but then decided to get this setting after I saw a pic of Amal Clooney’s ring 😉

I wanted a smaller solitaire with a little extra “bling.” I needed a thicker band because I don’t mesh with anything considered ‘delicate.’ I love the extra sparkle on the 2.5mm band, and the jeweler did an amazing job of matching the color of the pavè stones to my E colored center stone!

mrsv18 :   I dont have a pic but my husband had two rings picked out for me, a solitaire and a single halo. I always thought I would be a solitar kind of girl but when I saw the halo, I thought it was perfect.  Lots of sparkle withoout being over the top. I dress pretty simple so my ring adds a bit of contrast.

I wanted an August vintage cushion diamond in the worst way. My dream one is 3+ carats but we don’t have the funds. I found this 1.16 carat (center stone) 2nd hand online. It was already set and I liked the lotus flower setting. I have to say though, at times I wish I had a solitaire. There’s something understatedly elegant about a solitaire that I just love. But, he hasn’t proposed yet, so I guess I shouldn’t complain about a ring I don’t even get to wear lol

2ndchance :  I love the profile of your ring. I think it’s so unique, and Iiiiii kind of have a crush on it.

nelliemade :  aww, thanks. I do love it, don’t get me wrong, I just normally would have picked a solitaire and am still getting used to the idea of a three stone 🙂

I originally chose a princess cut with side stones and the centre stone was 4 stones not a single one. I never truly loved it (sorry hubby) and finally after literally years of research got my upgrade to a 1 ct solitaire. I like how the stone stands alone and you can dress it up or down depending on your wedding band. I got a cathedral setting so the stone is set high up and I got 4 claws not 6, so that the stone isn’t enclosed and you can see it really well.

ladydanger :  Good choice!  I think if I was ever go for a different shape other than round I’d choose something very similar to yours.
