Ooh, a Marine! πŸ˜‰ Lucky lady.

We picked 12.10.10 because 12.11.10 wasn’t going to work for us (courthouse isn’t open on Saturdays). We originally had 11.11.11, but wanted to move the wedding up because 1) we thought that waiting another year for a specific date, no other reason, wasn’t our style and 2) I needed to be on DH’s health insurance. Practical, lol.

We picked it because as a Sunday it was easier to find vendors that weren’t taken yet (we had to redo the whole wedding about 7-8 months out so it felt like we didn’t have much time) and we picked March 6 because it was the beginning of my fiance’s spring break and would allow us to relax and take a mini honeymoon afterward.

we got engaged 8/27/10, we’re getting married 8/27/11 πŸ™‚

The availability of the venue played a big part too πŸ™‚

We picked ours because it was our dating anniversary.  Well, sort of.  Our dating anniversary is March 24, but we went with the 23rd because it’s way less expensive at our venue to do the Friday vs. the Saturday.  So we’ll be leaving for our honeymoon on our 6 year dating anniversary, and our 1 day married anniversary πŸ™‚

Because the reception venue I liked the best was available on that date.  My options were limited! πŸ™‚

We worked ours around school, jobs, siblings’ graduations, etc.  We literally have a two month window before we can’t take more than a week off for the next several years, so thank goodness he proposed in time to take advantage!

We wanted a date in a month it wasn’t going to be very hot (living in Southern Cali it can get disgusting). We started planning early/mid ’09 and we figured another 1.5 years would give us enough time to save. We ended up w/ 10/10/10 because we thought it would be cool!

Well, only because DH said “We’re doing this today!” and hauled me off to City Hall!

We didn’t pick the date. We wanted a September/October wedding (not too hot and not too cold). We also wants it to be on Saturday. The place picked is booked in September and October 1st is the first available date, so we went with it. Our wedding date will be 3 days before my BD. I don’t want to lump my BD and Anniversary together,  I told FI that I’d still expect a BD and Anniversary presents separately. LOL

@cyndistar3: Oh man! I know! I wish I didn’t pick the date just because I don’t know how I’ve waited so long lol. But, in the end it’s worked for us… I just wish I could already be the Mrs. :”]] And congrats of your man becoming a Marine <3

We knew we wanted a Saturday that was not during a semester as I am a teacher and many of our guests were still in college.  We didn’t want to be between Christmas and New Year’s and we didn’t want to wait 18 months instead of 13, so 12/19/09 it was!
