Ha! So you were able to hold your tongue?
My FILs are hosting the rehearsal dinner but keep reminding us that "we" (me and FI) need to invite people, either by sending invitations or whatever. I don't know how to tell her that's weird without saying "that's weird. you're the hosts!"
haha this isn't entirely related, but it's similar: My FI and I are going to his cousin's wedding in December, and my FMIL called us the other day and was just going on and on about these "cute little things they sent out about 6 months before the wedding - it wasn't actually an invitation...it was just telling us to save the date for their wedding".
FI just started laughing and said "um yeah it's called a save the date mom, and amanda has been planning ours since about 5 minutes after we got engaged"
That is too funny, and thank you andreaandchinelo I just added the "invitations" to our photography MUST shots ;)

The cutest thing happened the other day
...Soooo...DH parents came over to our house (they live 10 min away) for the first time since the wedding and I was talking to my MIL about how great everything was, we all watched the DVD our photographer put together...everything was lovely...until she started asking did we get a picture of the beautiful invite that I laborously DIY'ed...we didn't, but then that turned into a 10 min tirade on why we didn't put our registry information in the invite...
What?!?!?! you don't know the PRO-TO-COL?!?!?!...LOL... I graciously acted like I just forgot, since I didn't want to confront her about proper wedding etiquette...
have people come up to you to ask why you didn't do something regarding your wedding that you just KNEW would be oh sooooo wrong?
