@tcacciato: Have you tried No Pudge brownies? They are chocolate and delicious, but not nearly as caloric as chocolate cake.
Cut from the source, don't buy it at all. Don't buy the ingredients that will allow you to eat in a way you don't want.
Eat a piece of yur cake, and eat one cupcake, and go offer the rest to a neighbor or something; or throw it out (although not the best option)
Ice cream and all things cake are my weaknesses. I'm dreaming about the cookies I'm going to eat for dinner right now! My dress is BODY HUGGING and I have no idea what I'm going to do. I have the Insanity dvds but looking at them just makes me depressed which makes me want to eat! lol
I agree EGB. Don't have the ingredients in your house to make it.
If you absolutely must have it...eat one piece to satisfy your craving and then offer the rest to someone else. You might make a SERIOUSLY good friend out of a neighbor and you save yourself and extra 90 minutes of cardio.
I think if you stop eating cake for a few days or so, you will find your craving drops off. I have a ridiculous thing for pudding cups and I've noticed that if I have one a couple nights in a row, I keep craving them. But if I just don't eat them, I forget they are there and don't even want one.
So it's going to be hard, but I'd quit cake cold turkey!! Save it for special occasions (weddings, birthdays) only!
Give it away. Get the ingredients out of the house - save one cupcake for yourself or find ways to get cake when out - in small portions.
lol thanks for all the advice ladies, I'm glad I"m not the only one with a crazy weak spot!
You know that scene in Sex & The City in which Miranda bakes a Duncan Hines cake and then eats like 3/4 of it before she has to throw it in the trash AND douse it in dishsoap?
Stock up on dishsoap.
(oh yeah--and don't buy the stuff to make it. If you really have a craving that won't quit, I subscribe to the belief that it's okay to go out to a bakeshop/grocery store whatever and buy yourself 1 SLICE to eat. That way, it's portion controlled and you can satisfy your craving. BUT make sure that this does not become a daily occurrence! We're talking those once-in-a-while hard to beat cravings)
I do the same thing!
well i dont bake the cake but I go out of my way to buy cupcakes!
i-i-i!

Hello hive
I have an addiction, and its name is chocolate cake....now my wedding is in 33 days, and I'm very concerned about making sure my dress fits perfectly, which most of us brides are. So I've upped my workouts, and am trying to eat better...but what do I do today (since I sit at home all day since I'm recently unemployed due to an army posting). I bake a chocolate cake! oh and some chocolate cupcakes!!! I mean come on, why do I do this to myself? My lovel y fiance isn't any help, he says its ok justifiable because i'm working out..but its not...not in my mind, yet I can't get away from the cake!!! lol
any ideas on how to curb cravings?
