Haha I know! I do well most of the night but when I get up at 430 for my thyroid meds, I have so much trouble going back to sleep! Such a pain! I’ve never been on WB so much at night. It’s so different than the morning! :p

I’m with you girl!  It is now 4:30 am and I have been awake since about 1:30 am with the usual stuff but the really bad acid reflux is keeping me awake.  I cannot lie down, tried sleeping in the glider and now am just surfing the net.  38 weeks, two weeks to go!  I call this my “training’ for new baby. 🙂

Agreed 110%! I am literally waking up once every hour which I find ridiculous considering I am only 19 weeks 🙁 I can’t imagine what it will be like towards the end of my pregnancyo

Some things to try:

Stop checking the clock and try to distract yourself as opposed to lying awake focusing on the fact that you can’t sleep. If you’ve been awake for more than 30 mins, get up and do something quiet until you feel sleepy again.

Granted, preggo hormones whack sleep up… but some sleep hygeine practices could potentially help.

As for the pain and discomfort I’ve heard body pillow can help? I’m not pregs but I have had hip, back and neck pain. I use one and it takes a lot of the pressure off.

I’m 30 weeks now and although I don’t suffer from insomnia now, I wake up about 4 times a night to change positions and it HURTS!!
But I had insomnia earlier on in the pregnancy and what helped me is to listen to an audiobook that I had listened to a few times. That calmed me down, stopped me looking at the clock and I wasn’t missing anything in the story if I fell asleep.
