Not trying to start drama, just curious. There are a lot of blogger bees whose recaps I was really looking forward to, and they just never, well..recapped. I know that once the wedding is over sometimes you are just over it and don’t really want to revisit it, but for the bees whose planning I followed from the beginning, I would really love to see how it all turned out.

There are quite a few threads about this 🙂
I think just life gets in the way! New jobs, moving, babies, tragedy, etc etc. It takes at least 30-60 days to get pro photos back, so somewhere in between that time things happen!

It’s definitely a bummer when they don’t, since we get so emotionally invested in their posts! Some of the bees have said they love getting messages reminding them, so I have PM’d a few here and there, letting them know I miss them and hope to see their recaps!

*waves* Hi SerenaSF!
The ladies are right….for us bees who have yet to post our recaps, there are a variety of reasons. A good number of us only recently (a few weeks ago ) received our pro pics back and others are still waiting. Some bees want to write all their posts before publishing them so there’s no big gap. Others have other life things that put recaps on the back burner.
I’m now in the grueling process of sifting thru ALL.THOSE.PHOTOS to select those to feature in my recaps. I’m dreaming of recap title names and writing the posts as we speak. And I’m so excited to share them with all of you!
And if there are other bees whom you’d live to read their recaps, we love receiving PMs :). Sometimes, it’s the little nudge we need.
PS – Congratulations on YOUR wedding! I mentioned this in your thread, but i’ll say it again – it was CRAZY GORGEOUS. 🙂

@ostrich: Hi Ostrich! Thanks for the reply. I know I would be the same way (I can hardly motivate myself to get my favorite pictures printed, let alone write recaps) I’m just antsy! I followed so many bees in their planning and I want to see the end result!
And thank you so so much for the nice compliments. The day was awesome. Wedding catch up over drinks in SF sometime in January, perhaps?
P.S. I wasn’t referring to you when I thought of bloggers that haven’t finished. I think you have done a fabulous job with your tales of a destination bride 🙂

I’m totally guilty of being a blogger who hasn’t finished. And it’s a combination of what Mrs. Argentina and what Mrs. Ostrich are saying. First of all, this has been a huge year for us. In addition to getting married, I changed jobs after 12 years in one place, we bought a new house and moved, went on a trip with my mother, and now are trying to get the new house ready to host the holidays. I love you all and I want to and will finish. But man, there’s a lot going on over here!
Add to that the fact the recapping is hard work. There are hundreds of photos to comb through to pick the right ones. And I want to make sure I include the things I think you all want to know but not the stuff you’ll find boring. It’s just a lot.
I know no one was especially concerned about my recaps specifically, I just wanted to put this out there as someone who is currently a bit delinquent. And, in case anyone was wondering, I’m working on getting the pictures together to finish. I just need more time due to all of the life madness already mentioned. 😉

@Linz1231: I think this advice is great – if you are missing a particular set of recaps – send a PM! It’s so true that life comes along, but sometimes we just need a reminder that there are people out there who are still interested!
I know I can only speak for myself, but mine took a little longer because I chose to write all of my recaps before I published them so that there wouldn’t be any lags once I started, so that set me back about a month, and I wrapped up a year to the day from my wedding.
It’s always good to know that people are interested and waiting for the recaps though!

Before I got into the boards, I was going back and reading older bees’ blogs all the way through, and it was so sad when they would abruptly cut off! But of course, the ones I was reading were from over a year ago, so it’d be weird to PM and ask them to finish… that said, Mrs. Frog was one of the ones I was reading, and I was so happy when she picked the recaps back up!
Personally, I think it would be so overwhelming to have to go back in and write the recaps, I really respect the bees for committing to do them and carrying through!
