Sorry, there are no users yet.
I'm an ordained rabbi who spent 5 years post graduate study in a seminary prior to being ordained. Often I'm asked to do interfaith weddings, co-officiated weddings, weddings on Saturday and destination weddings and unless absolutely impossible to accommodate or I feel that the couple is not serious about their relationship, I will perform the ceremony. The cost? I charge $1000. You may ask why so much. There is usually counseling, often calls to the other officiant, travel time, rehearsal time, numerous e-mails, writing the service, interviewing the bride and groom, helping them craft the ceremony etc. I once calculated that I "earned" $20/hr. I don't do it as a primary revenue source but rather because it's a life cycle event that I committed myself to doing when I entered the rabbinate.
