I had someone say to me “well it doesn’t LOOK like 1 carat”. I wasn’t sure how to take that….

LOL, people love to make faces no matter what you’re talking about.  Your ring is classic and beautiful, and you’re right…no one should ask what size it is.  When rude people ask me I simply say ‘I have no idea, whatever size it is it’s just perfect!’

I LOVE how everyone seems to forget that carat is a measurement of WEIGHT not size. A 1 carat can have a totally different face upsize from another 1 carat depending on the cut. Its like how one girl can weigh 150lb and look plum and another can weigh 150lb and look really trim.

I have never had someone ask about my carat size, nor would I ever ask.

And if someone asked me I would lie and say “I don’t know”. Problem solved.

Is it a good face or a bad face? Like “it’s too small” or “it’s too big”? I’ll probably be getting a 1 carat so I want to prepare… 😛

I don’t know. That is pretty strange. I have noticed that you have started a lot of threads on diamond size. It obviously bothers you, so why not get a smaller diamond? You could make your original e-ring stone a pendant so you can still wear it, but you won’t get any more offensive comments/looks. If it helps, I think most people these days are not super overwhelmed by a 1ct. We are bombarded with images of huge rocks in celebrity culture etc. I think 2ct still gets a bit of awe, and some people might treat you with a “you’re a gold-digger” attitude, but I think a 1ct is pretty standard. You have a really pretty ring.

I have only been asked by one person and she is my ex MOH and was onlyl intersted to see if HERS was bigger or not.  However when I OFFER to tell someone…like my family (sisters, mother) they gave me a look and I was like “What, What is it!”  and was told “it looks bigger then that!”  So you never know what the reason is unless you ask what? Why the strange face going on their missy? LOL  Could be anything from wow nice, to looks bigger ,looks smaller, I am hating on you right now, or I want a bigger one..you have to ask. LOL

I actually don’t think anyone’s asked the size of my ring either. Maybe it’s too teeny. 😀
