I am having such bad luck with hearing back from vendors. Whether I am contacting them through WeddingWire or I’m waiting to receive a proposal? Don’t they realize how frustrating it is to have to wait around?

I feel your pain 🙁 Many people never called me back at all. But it is better to know that upfront then have them be unreliable day of.

It pissed me off, too. I came up with a rule that if they couldn’t respond to me in a timely manner, then I couldn’t hire them. If they took more than a couple days to respond to my first email, then I crossed them off the list.

Well, you do have to realize this is a busy season for them, but then again, they need to get back with you in a timely manner. Have you had any luck with any of the vendors?

I am so surprised by it, the world is in recession, and you would think these vendors would jump at the chance of work, but no. and if i have to ring my venue and speak to the manageress, it feels like i am causing so much trouble for her. its not like i am expecting them to work for free. the highly inflated ‘wedding’ prices we pay, and yet our custom is not really appreciated.
if they dont email me back in a timely manner………..i go elsewhere. and when and if they DO get back to me, i tell them i went elsewhere…..and why. i explain that if it took 3 weeks…(or however long it was) to get back to me, then they dont deserve my business.
i mean if they are on vacation or busy with other stuff (i find it difficult to believe anyone in business is too busy to quickly check their emails) , then do what i do , and get your computer to send an out of office reply, explaining that you are either out of office, or on vacation until whatever date……then i am prepared to wait. But to hear nothing is just plain bad manners.
