Aside from the fact that Mr. Shef picked it out just for me to show his love and commitment (which I am sure we can ALL say), I love my r-ring because it is so me. I have tiny fingers (size 4) and anything bigger would overwhelm it, especially after my wedding band is added. It is a solitair without looking lonely because it has two bands on eitehr side of the stone to pull they eye right to gorgeous family heirloom with an amazing history. Oh and the half infinity stone on the sides just make it sparkle that much more without being too flashy. It is simple, sparkly, meaningful, and just PERFECT for me.
Why do you love your e-ring?
The diamond was my FI's Grandmothers! And he had it reset in a Tiffany style setting. It's simple and beautiful and the diamond is way bigger than I thought I was going to get- it's just big enough so that i look at it and say "wow" but not so big that it looks gaudy. It's my dream ring!
I love my e-ring because FI and I chose it together, as a team. I'll always remember those countless hours that we spent going from store to store as one of the most exciting times in my life because it meant that our engagement (that I waited more than 5 years for) was right around the corner. My e-ring is just like me... unique, sparkly and a little chunky! I also love it because its unlike anyone elses (which was very important to both of us) and the size (1.25 tcw) looks AWESOME on my size 9 finger.

I love my e-ring because my honey designed it himself..and his mom was kind enough to give him stones from her original engagement ring for him to use around the centre stone because she knew how sentimental I am about that kind of stuff. She may drive me nuts but it's the thought that counts!!

The way the diamonds catch the light, especially if I'm somewhere with multiple light sources coming from various angles, like in the elevators in my building at work. I just look down at it and my wedding band and every time I'm mesmerized by how beautiful the cut of the diamonds looks when they're shooting reflected light back out in a million directions. It just stuns me every time. I never really understood the big deal about diamonds (other than that they are incredibly well-marketed) until I had this ring on my finger, and now I get it. They amaze me.
I like that it's a split-shank, both because I love the visual interestingness of the look and because I've never seen anyone with a split-shank ring. I love how the curve of the e-ring creates a pretty little gap between it and the wedding band, but they still look like they were meant to go together.
And last but certainly not least, I love that he picked it out without any input from me at all, and that the solitaire is an heirloom from his mother - and that I was required to promise that I would pass it along to our child one day before I was allowed to accept it.
Here's my set, with his:

I Love my E-Ring because my Love gave it to me and it's beautiful!
I love mine because it was the first major decision we made together. I love that he didn't pressure me into a diamond. I love that he got so emotional while he proposed. (he cried! Don't let him tell you differently!)

I love my ring because it's unique with it's sapphire accents! I love the antique look as well and he did a great job picking out the ring!
because it is AWESOME.. (duh)
and my dear FI picked it out --plus it's vintage looking and has so much detail.
I LOVE my e-ring because my fiance gave it to me.
I love it because my best friend designed and made it
I love it because it's an eye catcher
I love it because NO ONE in the world has one like it.
I love it because it's unique.
I love it because it's yellow gold
I love it because it screams me :)

I love mine because FI knew that I wanted him to ask for my grandmother's ring...and my mother said no to him! (FYI she and my dad did give permission still) She is still wearing grandma's ring and wants me to just inherit it later.
So, FI and his stepfather went from store to store with FI rejecting ring after ring until he found one that he described as: unique like me and my taste, but classic enough to wear forever, and similar to my grandmother's ring which he knew I liked. SO THOUGHTFUL. And he nailed it. It is unique yet wearable forever.
I love mine because my fiance picked it out and completely surprised me with the proposal as well :)
He also picked out the one he did because years ago I mentioned I love Tacori jewlery & he must have remembered that.
I love mine because it is perfect for me.
I have always admired my mom's, and she has an emerald cut diamond. I always thought it was the prettiest ring in the whole world. When I was younger, I thought I wanted something different than my mom had, something more modern. But then when I was working in the jewelry store, I found that I was always drawn to the emerald cut diamonds when we got new ones in stock.
DH and I went shopping for my ring together on the anniversary of our first date. The first place we went to, the ring I wanted to see cost $10,000, and DH looked like a deer in headlights. Fortunately, that was not the ring I actually wanted. It was the exact style I wanted, but it was way too big. I wanted something considerably smaller. So we went from store to store to store until we found that exact style only considerably smaller. When we finally found the right one, I knew it. DH knew it too. He loved it as much as I did.
I didn't realize that I had chosen a ring very similar to my moms until I showed it to my dad and he said my ring looked like my mother's that. When he said that, it made my ring even more special.
Well, He picked it out himself..it was a reasonable price but also very pretty. I love how the light catches it. I didn't want something too big because my hands are small and i have long fingers.
I love mine because it is a style that I love! I love what it symbolizes. It is what I dreamed it would be, and we picked it out together. I love the little diamonds that surround the center stone, the diamonds on the side, and the sentimental value of my ring. The center stone was from my mom's ring from my dad. It's just perfect :-).
i love my e-ring because it came from the love of my life. He picked out the perfect solitare ring. He knew i wanted something simple and he nailed it on the head. It's absolutely stunning (and very sparkly too!)
I love mine. It's a split shank halo about 1.5ctw. I love it so much because I picked the setting and my FI picked the stones. My FFIL is a jewelry, so he was very involved with the whole process. Just special to me. And I totally get what the pp was saying about not "getting it" about diamonds...because I had never owned anything with quality diamonds in it before. I totally get it now. :) I only have iphone pics, so the are a little blurry.

I love it because we picked it out together
I love it because it's unique and not many people have this design
I love it because I LOVE the flower design
and I love it because he gave it to me :)

I have two rings, a proposal band and an e-ring. I love my proposal band bc it was a dream and a wish I had since I was a little girl. I love it bc it was custom made. I love it bc its rose gold. I love it bc its full of heart and hard work. My e-ring, I love it for so many levels. The center stone holds DH's family history and stories from the early 1900's. It travels to places we hope to travel, its going to travel to new places and hold our stories and capture our history. We designed its setting and had it custom made. I love that its half DH and half me.
@mandy83ala: Love your ring.
I love mine simply because my FI chose and bought it for me,
I love mine because my FI and I designed it together. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything!
I love it because...
...the love of my life gave it to me and
...its a bigger diamond than I ever thought I would get
...its super sparkly (and I love sparkly!) and
...it has so much meaning (engraved on each side is the infinity symbol)
...it fits me! (my finger is size 3.5, so I can NEVER find rings my size, but also the size of the diamond is perfect for my finger and also the style is exactly perfect.
...its practically perfect in every way
I love my engagement ring because it's so me.. very my style and it's different. None of my engaged friends or people I've met have this ring. Also, we picked it out together, and that means something to me. It's a token of his love and admiration for me, showing he wants to spend his life with me, and that alone makes it so special. The fact that it's very sparkly is great too.. haha :) I love my ring!

Why do I love my e-ring? That's easy! Because his family loved me enough to give us the family stone.
Our predicament wasn't the most "respectable" one, but that didn't bother my inlaws.
I love my e-ring because when I look at it, I am reminded that I am loved by the man I adore.
I love it because the stone is large enoiugh for my 50 year old eyes to see it but not so large that I feel self conscious.
I love my asscher cut stone...it looks like mirrors going on into infinity.
I love the brushed rose gold and minimalist setting. Very "me".
I love that I will be able to stack lots of rings next to it as life goes on...the wedding ring, anniversary rings...

Because my honey picked it out just for me...all by himself. And, I have never seen anything quite like it. Also, my dress kind of matched the band. My dress has a ribbon point just like the ring's point.

I love mine because 1) the representation it has 2) I got to help pick it out (I picked the setting he picked the diamond) 3) Saphire is his birthstone!
Why do I love my engagement ring besides the fact that my heart gave it to me.... For years when I imagined getting engaged/married, I thought I had a clear picture in my head the type of ring I would "like" to have, how the wedding would go etc..... In my head, I knew it would be beautiful but could never have imagined I would LOVE it so much. Not just because its a ring but what it represents. My FI is so proud that he picked out the ring and was so excited when he proposed to me. I still remember that night as if it was yesterday, The look in his eyes when he asked me to be his wife.....priceless! The ring is a perfect fit for my finger...and that's why I love it!
EDIT: sorry, meant to do only ring shots ;)
I love mine because my fiance chose it all by himself. Although he did bring my mom along which I also think is so cute! It is very unique; I have never seen anyone else with a ring like it-- it has two pick diamonds set in rose gold on the sides of the center stone and two small pink diamond chips in the setting. I love having a ring that is totally unique!
I also love it because the stone was my nana's which makes it incredibly meaningful. I wear another one of her diamonds around my neck (my parents made me a necklace from it when I graduated from college).
I love it because of the journey it took prior to being on my finger. DH had my sister wait for it to be delivered at our house one Tuesday afternoon while he was at class. She opened it, with his permission, and set in on my then 6 month old nieces finger and took a picture and sent it to my DH and mom. DH then hid it in our apartment for 3 days before taking it to breakfast with my Dad where he showed him and asked permission. Two days later it then took a train ride into NYC in DH's pocket with me sitting next to it not knowing it was there and then it finally made it's final debut to me in Grand Central Station :)
I don't have my e-ring yet lol, but I love it because it's classic and timeless and really suits not just me, but my SO aswell. Also, I chose a moissanite instead of a diamond, which I am very proud of.
I love my ring because it's more than I ever could have dreamed of. Because FI asked me what I liked and then did months of research to find a fantastic stone (as well as make sure he got a good price for it). I also love it because the week he was going to propose, he called me to make sure that I really did want a cushion cut (since the jeweler called him and said the stone was squarer than they originally thought).
I love my e-ring because it means I'm marrying the love of my life (even if I did have to wait 6 1/2 years for it).
I LOVE my ring because he gave it to me. We looked together and basically narrowed it down to 2 styles. I secretly wanted the one he actually bought which made me feel like he understood me. He always tries to make me happy.
I like it because it has a wide band and I like the shape of the diamond (pear). I don't like yellow gold and he loves it, but he bought me what I wanted. His ring is white and yellow gold mix.
I have tiny fingers too...4.5 and it fits my slender fingers perfectly.
I also love it because it was the best proposal EVER!!!
I love my ring because
... FI gave it to me
... It came from his Great Grandmothers ring. His Mom gave him great grandmothers ring, but the diamond didn't fit in it so the store traded that band in for my band.
... It has a marquise cut diamond. I have never seen anyone else with a marquise cut diamond in person, only on here.

I love mine because of all the effort and time he put into the ring. DH is always working late at the office (typical finance guy?) so he doesn't have a ton of free time. He didn't believe in diamond engagement rings, saying it was all a clever marketing scheme by DeBeers, a rock wasn't worth that much money, etc. He knew having a diamond was a personal preference of mine, but I knew better to expect it from him. Well, he surprised me by researching, haggling over, and custom designing a three stone diamond ring that resembles my mother's ering, which I loved but couldn't have. The sparkles don't hurt either. :)
