So the other day my SO and I were watching T.V. I’m not sure exactly how the conversation went, but he was basically refering to why he is dating me or keeping me around, but it came out “why do you think I married you?” instead…haha it was kind of a funny slip up since were not even engaged.
He was quite embrassed by it actually and was just like oh, wow..I’m shutting up now. haha …I wonder whats on his mind?
Just thought it was funny so I decided to share it.
Anyone else…SO other slip and say something similiar?

My SO called me his wife at our friend’s wedding this Saturday night, As in, “well, our wives have already said they’re hosting, so I guess I’ll see you next week.”
UM. Hello? Not. Yet. Engaged.
I just laughed. I don’t even think he realized what he said!

Tonight I said to FH, “I’m so happy to be marrying you” (or something similar to that), and he said, “I’m so happy to be married to you too–I mean, getting married.” lol

When we signed up for a Hhgregg card together the first bill came in as Amy & J Dee (my last name) and he’s like, “Nooooo you’re Amy P!! (his last name)” and I’m just like… “OoOoOh so when were you planning on telling me that?? and he just kind of grumbles something about how I will be… someday. *Sigh*

And they wonder why we always have weddings and marriage on the brain…

@ashley5741: Seriously. I think FH is buying me a jersey of our favorite hockey team this Christmas, personalized with his last name… even though we’re not getting married until next year! I’m actually very excited about the jersey. 🙂 And he’s excited that I want to change my last name.

Before we were engaged, FI said something like “But you’re my wife! … Uhm, girlfriend”. I took that to mean that he was up to something. But no. It took another 1 1/2 years until he proposed.
Now that we’re engaged, he still sometimes calls me his girlfriend, and at other times, he calls me his wife. When someone called to sell us a newspaper subscription, he said the lady needed to talk to his wife about that. When she called back, we both picked up at the same time. She asked for Mrs. FI’s-last-name. I said there is no Mrs. FI’s-last-name. FI replied, yes, that would be you!

A bunch of friends got together over the Thanksgiving weekend, and my guy friend who has been dating his girlfriend for around 6 months referred to her as his “future bride” when making a comment to the whole group. They’re not even engaged yet. He tried to brush it off, but I wouldn’t let him (I like to tease my guy friends at every chance!)
I said “Um….Jeff, do you have an announcement to make?” The look on her face was priceless.

Once after I had had a rough and emotional day, DH and were having dinner in a restaurant when he said, “haven’t I been a good husband today?”. We had been dating 5 months. It took another 2.5 years before he actually became that husband!

my SO and i were writing cards to go along with wedding gifts – his colleague’s daughter was getting married. hesitantly, i askd how he wanted it signed “SO and Sunnyday”, “SO”, etc.
Told me to sign it “SO and Sunnyday SO’s last name” to avoid confusing colleague’s! humph. when i pointedly told him we weren’t married, he said “honey, we will be, so better get used to writing for the both of us!”
didn’t know if i should laugh or strangle him. 🙂

We were in a drugstore looking at the Christmas stuff. There was a trapper hat with Santa colors that said “Merry Christmas, eh!” and I said “Look! It says Marry me, eh!”
Um….whoops! We’d been talking about guest lists ten minutes prior so my mind was still stuck on weddings.

Now that we’re engaged FI still calls me Girlfriend and I still call him Boyfriend…he’s told me I’ll be “Girlfriend” until we’re 80 and he’s chasing me down the nursing home hall. Guess that’s what 7 years of the same nickname will do.
I have said before (to myself in my head) when we were dating and having a row ‘ugh! Why did I marry you again?!’ oooh…yeah, haven’t done that yet.
