Oh my gosh. DH has had facial hair the entire time I’ve known him. I would be horrified if it was suddenly gone! Hopefully they are a little lenient on their policies. I think well-groomed facial hair is professional.

@Eckle:  DH had to do this over the summer for a job before his management position started.

I cried.  Big fat crocodile tears.  I know what you’re going through!

Hopefully they allow some sort of facial hair.  If they don’t, don’t worry, at least on DH, it grows back in quickly.  So I would get to see his beard at least every Saturday and Sunday.

I scream whenever DH shaves his facial hair off!

I hate when SO shaves off his goatee. He looks 12 when he does and it just makes me sad 🙁

I love DH’s face anyway he has it 🙂  He looks so cute.  He grows it and then shaves it every couple of weeks when it gets to “itchy.”  🙂  He looks like 15 years younger when he shaves and his eye look like the size of basketballs!

@Eckle:  Oh believe me, I understand that. SO and I are both 23. He looks maybe 24 with a goatee. No matter what I do people think I’m 16 or 17. Everyone says that I will love this whne I’m older. I hate it so much right now.

My FI looks like a turtle with no facial hair, the poor guy has no upper lip.  I’ve never really been into facial hair but I love his and hated the way he looked the one time he shaved it all off, I’m sure he will never do that agian. If he ever had to shave it off, I might cry.

I can understand why this would be both stunning and upsetting, but I think your FI owes it to himself and to you in terms of his career path and your collective future to try to get this job and then progress through the ranks of management, even if it means he cannot have facial hair the entire time he works there. This is not uncommon. When I was growing up, my father was in management for a major corporation, and he also was not permitted to have facial hair because of his position. Now that he’s been retired for many years, he enjoys sporting his Van Dyke.

I wanna see pics of all these guys who look better with facial hair than without. Pics! Pics! Pics! =]

Generally speaking, I think men look better without facial hair, but I remember my dad shaving his mustache for the first time and thinking he looked weird. But now when I look at pictures, I think he looks better without it.
