You definitely shouldn't be less picky - I'm sure everyone on Weddingbee will help you out!
But can I ask a favor? If you want to talk about the buying and selling of a specific dress, please post over on the Classifieds! Of course, if you want to vent or just talk about dresses in general... you're in the right place. :-)
ha i was planning on just venting...but I did also post in the classifieds.
Chin up, girly. It is out there. I tried on hundreds of dresses and went to like a million stores (ok maybe like 5) some twice before I found something. Enjoy the ride. Don't stress. :)
What about this?

or this one, without the sleeves?
Here are a few Priscilla of Boston Vineyard dresses. They are very simple but elegant.

mind you, many of their dresses are on the pricy side, but they definately have the simple, white, non-poofy dress down and they are good at it.
there is a Lela Rose gown that I LOVED that was a very straight skirt with a shirred sweetheart neckline that I LOVED. ill have to search for the photo
there is one at www.lelarose.com under wedding collection - Spring 2009 Collection option 05. Not the one I was thinking of but close
You sound pretty similar to me! Also a size 2 but quite a bit shorter at 5'5. It took me forever, but I finally settled on this one and I love it! Its not an a-line, but it only has a slight mermaid, so pretty close. Could be even closer to an a-line depending on how you alter it. It is alfred angelo style 2034 and ps it was only $300! Hang in there! You'll find something that works for you!
Hmmm...take a look at Alfred Angelo #1148. I think it may be good for you!

How about something like this:

It was the dress worn in the movie "The Hangover." Simple, elegant, and beautiful!

I am not hard to please! All I want is a simple, column shaped or a-line dress with a sweetheart top. Straight. No poof or beading. I am a size 2 and 5'8" tall.
I have tried on countless dresses and none seem to fit my criteria! It seems like it would be easy to find...? Should I be less picky?
And also if you own a dress that sounds like this, I would love to hear from you. my wedding is on May 8, 2010 and I would love to knock the dress off my to do list!
