@ohmybears48:  That might be a little hard. You might have to spend a little more than that. Like maybe $40.00?? Anyways, I found these for you.

@ohmybears48:  Consignment and thrift shops are a great source of kids dress up clothes. Most kids only wear these things once, then are grown out of them by the time the next event comes around.

@ohmybears48:  Are you firm on a formal look?

He could wear something like this.

Two little boys wearing suspenders, baker-boy caps and gingham shirts

the hat and the suspenders are the only extras to add to a gigham shirt and a pair of pants.

@ohmybears48:  That price, you need to make it yourself, or get it second hand.  The good news is that these ae clothes a child will wear only a handful of times — often once — so second hand items should be in very good condition.

Second Amazon. We got my nephews tux there and I think it was like 29 bucks. Not the most amazing quality if you examined it up close (for the price you really can’t expect super high quality) but seriously, he is 3 years old and only wore it for a few hours.  He looked adorable and that’s all that matters.

We’ve always been able to find three and four piece suits at Kohls for under $30.

@ohmybears48:

I’m in Canada, so most of those places don’t exist here, but have you gone TO Sears to see?   The website only has the newer stuff, but in store they have a bigger selection, last season’s models at discounted prices, and mixed sets (like, ppl mix up sizes or sets, so they can’t sell what’s left as a ‘set’ so it’s super discounted. )

I bought my son a baby suit there (59.99, I think, for a complete set) for a wedding two summers ago when he was 15 months old.   I bought size 12 months because that’s the smallest they had, it was too big, but what are you going to do, right?.   Anyway, believe it or not, two years later, the jacket STILL fits, but I had cut the pants to hem them.  I went to Sears last week, I got pants, shirt and little vest with a tie for 21.00 $ including 15% sales tax.   The pants had belonged to a set at one point but all that was left was the pants so they were like, 6$, and the shirt vest and tie were missing the pants in the right size so they were also discounted, plus there was a 25% discount on all babies’ dresswear.   Major score.  You don’t get that on the website.

Now I just have to alter his pants, I got 24 months and they’re too big  >.<   My kid is TINY.

@ohmybears48:  I think $30 WITH shipping will be SUPER hard.  My son was in my sister’s wedding when he was 3- we ended renting him a tux.  I just went to the Men’s Warehouse website, and they don’t have it listed, but they have a tux for PURCHASE for like $40 in store. They had it back when my sister got married, and they have it now.

I don’t know if you live close enough to one- but they might have suits for that little as well (we were looking for tux- so I didn’t specifically check for a suit)—

another idea- get him a pair of khaki’s and a cute button down (think GAP)- and *maybe* a tie.  The pants and shirt he will for sure wear again, and all kids look so cute in a tie!!
