Hi bees… Today is a very sad day. I lost my job and I am so heartbroken. I have less than a month until our wedding, Fiance lost his job a few months ago (with no luck of finding a new one, and what employer is going to hire someone that has to take two weeks off, in a few weeks of JUST starting?)
I can seriously cry just about now, I don’t know what we are going to do…
🙁 Sorry for the vent.

@mandauhhxo: *HUGS* Sorry you’re going through this right now. Is there anything that you can cut from the wedding to save money? Hopefully you’ll both be able to find new jobs soon. Best of luck.

@mandauhhxo: You don’t need to apologize. I would be devastated as well. *hugs* I wish I had some advice for you, I’m at a loss for words.

@housebee: I wish!! We actually just had to change our venue also, so we lost ALL vendors, and ALL deposits. We were in the middle of giving all new deposits, but now that just seems so impossible! Thanks for the positive thoughts!:)

So sorry to hear this! Can you guys pick up part time gigs while you pursue other work? Restaurant, retail, etc?
Good luck Op! *hugs*

Please vent on. This situation totally sucks so you are allowed to scream cry and throw things! No words of wisdom but I truly hope you two turn to each other for comfort during this really difficult time. Best wishes.

@mandauhhxo: I’m sorry. The economy is so fucking terrible right now. I hope that you can both get EI to keep you afloat until you find something else…because you will. Maybe not before the wedding, but you will find something. Maybe consider something part time or something that isn’t exactly ideal (such as retail) just to give yourself some breathing room.

First up, don’t apologise for venting. We all need to vent sometimes. Unfortunately you’ve found yourself in a shitty situation, so release all the frustration you have in whichever way you see fit. FH lost his job close to 2 months ago now, with no luck of finding anything right now. I can only imagine how you both might be feeling, having two low blows come our way in such a short time frame. 🙁 I sincerely hope everything works out for you, you deserve to be happy! Sending hugs! <3

Fiance and I are both looking for new jobs too right now, I know how scary and disheartening it can be!
I have lied to jobs though to get short term things when I needed it, like for retail/restaurant jobs, and I really think it’s a viable option. In businesses like that there’s a high turnover anyway and they can handle it, and employers have no loyalty to employees so I really don’t see why employees should ever consider an employer’s needs above his/her own these days. It sounds kind of bitter but it can be a tough world!
Wishing you all the best!
