Last year around this time my FI and I decided to move up the wedding to Jan 2012 from Nov 2012. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and I did not want risk waiting until nov 2012. We got married Jan 14th 2012 my mom was feeling great and we have some amazing pictures and memories from that day.
My mother passed away July 28th. It happened faster than any of us could have imagined on the July 14th she was over my house swimming in my pool with her grand kids (my niece and nephew) a week later she was in the hospital she came home Wednesday and was surrounded by all the love in the world when she passed early saturday morning… my mother was a beautiful lady inside and out. She led her life with such grace and did not complain ever about pain during the past year. She had such amazing strength to fight a horrible disease for the 13 months she had. The amount of people who came to wake service and funeral are a testiment to how many people loved my mother it was truly amazing. As hard has the past couple of weeks have been i know she’s watching over me now.
Love you forever Mom….

@CTbride2010: I am so sorry for your loss. You mom was beautiful! Your story is making me cry. I lost my mom a little over two years ago. All I wanted to do was get married at the foot of her hospital bed so she could be there. Unfortunately we didn’t do it and I regret it so much. That is so wonderful she was able to be with you on your wedding day.

Like so many bees have written here, i am in tears..so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful homage you gave your mum here..and on your wedding day..this goes straight to my heart because we married too late . My MIL passed away in March 27th and our wedding was June 10th..of course we knew she wasn’t 100% (she was 87 and with a few heath problems) but we always believed we would have her on our wedding day and how happy she would have been at it..you did SO well in moving up the wedding, dearest, i hope we had done that too..

My mom struggles with an illness herself and your post really reminds me of how precious my mother is to me and how fragile life is. I’m so glad she got to be a part of your special day. She was very beautiful.
