OMG i swear my co-worker is smacking away on a never ending bag of something! I am literally across the office from her, and can still hear it over the clicking of everyones keyboards. I really just want to ask her if she is about done eating…
Just had to get that out there, And please feel free to get your daily rant off your chest 🙂

That and people who slurp their food!
I have to be honest, when I have a really bad cold and I’m at home I eat with my mouth open, but that’s because I can’t breathe through my nose. And when I lived with my parents my mom used to yell at me for it any time I got sick!

This is my #1 pet peeve. It’s a tie with people who make that sticky-spit sounding noise when they open and close their mouths for no reason. Mostly old people do this, and while I looooved my residents, this drove me crazy when I worked at a nursing home.
@futuremrste: That is literally the only reason for anyone to eat with their mouth open. I have to do that too because my ears get all stuffed up and it hurts if I don’t keep my mouth open.

@mattsgirl813: Not making excuses but some people were never taught that that is not something you do. I know with the kids I work with some of their parents never told them not to fart at the table.

In some cultures it’s acceptable snd seen as a sign of gratitude. Or some people are just gross.

Lol! Bugs me so much… my brother chews with his mouth open sometimes even though we were told not to. He just… does. Even worse though…
My dad always cuts his meat and veggies like… really hard. Where the knife is scraping the plate and making a super high pitched squeak like finger nails on a chalk board. Of course, I don’t think he can hear noises that high pitched anymore…
Random, had to share. 😛

@mattsgirl813: Ugh, I hate noisy eaters, and open-mouth chewers.
My OfficeMate who makes repellent eating noises is away this week, and I am blissfully enjoying the peace and quiet of not havingto have my earphones in all day every day in order to block him out.

Blaaah! Hate that! My coworker I sit about eight feet from, SLURPS anything that can be… AND OMG LICKS HIS FINGERS. I want to die every time he brings donuts.. because sloppy finger licking is coming. If it’s not either of those, it’s sniffling. GO freaking blow your nose and quit sucking snot.
@YogaFaerie: I hear your about that loud cutting thing! I was at a luncheon yesterday and one of the guys at my table was doing that.. I wanted to hurt him.

@mattsgirl813: that is my biggest pet peeve. I don’t know how parents let their kids get away with eating like animals. Plus I hate the sounds that they make. It’s so gross and disgusting. It really grates on me but I keep my mouth shut because I don’t want to come off as crazy. Sometimes i have to leave the room though.

My FI’s family chews with their mouths open and slurps 🙁
FI’s mother didn’t put too much emphasis on table manners when the kids were younger, which I have to keep reminding myself is understandable because she was a single mother raising four children, one of whom has special needs. Heck, most of the time she probably wasn’t even there while they were eating; she was at work and my Fiance rode herd as the oldest.
I just try to sit next to Fiance and his sister (who spent a lot of time at friends’ houses growing up, and picked up her table manners there) so the worst of the slurpy chompy noises are at least a few seats away from me.
