Why on earth did someone mark my thread as SPAM?

hey babe.

OMG, I have the same issue too!

I just posted a thread to see if the culture here of the grooms to be is different from where I come from. I was just posting based on curiosity and not to offend anyone.

I’m not from around the area, hence I’m quite puzzled as to my post which was also marked by ‘spammed’.

=(

Anyway, with regards to your inquiry… I say keep motivating yourself and have that goal in your mind at all times. Be discipline and peservere through, I believe you can do it with determination!

you can do it!

22lb? That’s a lot per week. If you had the same typo in your original post someone may have thought you were baiting.

Do you mean 2lbs a week?

Maybe just make a new one instead of getting all offended about it. It’s been happening to a few people not just you.

Could itbe accidental? i’ve accidentally flagged a few posts because the “Flag” selection is where the “Like” selection is on my other forums, lol. Oops.

bibilicious :  I’m saying it’s a mistake so it’s unlikely to happen again. That’s what happened in the other case.

1kg = 2.2 pounds so my guess is the 22 pounds you accidentally put made some poster feel that you were baiting or attempting to body shame. Who knows. Fair enough, 22 pounds is ridiculous number, lol.

Post agian and jus make sure your conversions are right, :).

I was taken aback cause my thread was marked as spam and it disappeared like less than a minute after I posted it.

Anyway… whatever.

you are so welcome. I know it’s possible because I’ve seen how friends of mine successful lost weight within a short period of time via determination. So it’s possible!

bibilicious :  I seem to recall others in same predicament of having their posts marked as spam recently so maybe there’s some flaw in the board :/:/

I think if you post again it’ll be OK. Good luck with your weight loss though!

If it happened less than a minute after you posted, it’s probably far more likely that the board has an automated SPAM filter that is monitoring keywords than it is a human being just deciding they didn’t like your post and you needing to call them out for it.  In fact, there have been many people posting about this same issue over the last few weeks and I believe in one of the most recent ones one of the board moderators suggested such a thing.  You may want to take it up with one of them or the WB support board instead.

ETA:  Also, on most other boards similar to this format – flagging a post doesn’t immediately remove it.  It just alerts a moderator to review it.  Then the moderator has to hide/review/delete it.  So unless the moderators are just extremely bored and pouncing on requests the minute they come through, that also points to it being a automated SPAM removal feature.  On a post about weight loss, depending on the words you used and what you were posting about (say supplements), I could very easily see how a SPAM filter might assume you were a trying to sell something.

WesterosBarbie :  it’s hard to accidentally flag posts on here, because in order to flag something you have to: hit the flag, type text, and hit enter. Flags without text are not submitted. So if you think you’ve flagged people on accident, take heart: it’s very unlikely.

bibilicious :  Hello! Our system sometimes accidentally marks posts as spam as it is doing its job filtering out real spam from the boards. Weddingbee users do not have the ability to mark posts as spam.
