Ok.. so I just had a moment.. while I was blowdrying my hair.. Ha! Why do we only get to wear the dress once? I mean, I understand the value in reselling the dress.. The seller gets some much needed money for new expenses, and the buyer gets a gorgeous gown for far less than retail price. BUT.. and stay with me on this.. why don’t we just have parties and wear our dresses again?! Why don’t we send invitations out to our girlfriends and tell them to come wearing their wedding gown and spiffy husband and eat and dance and just have fun in your most favoritest outfit ever- your wedding dress!!! Ok, so maybe I’m crazy.. maybe my moment was just that.. a moment.. But I just wanted to put that out there.. Oh! And for those gals who haven’t wed yet, invite them to wear their favorite dress and come too! They may see a gown that the love and be inspired! Ok.. enough of the crazy talk. Nice to put my first post out there for the rest of you beautiful bees! 🙂

That’s hilarious! A great idea though…I would LOVE to wear my dress more than once, and I’m not sold on the idea of selling it either…

I think that is such a fun idea, I love it!

I totally want to have parties in my wedding dress! I have 3 friends all getting married within the next 2 years, so we could totally pull it off. 🙂

this is the best idea I’ve heard in a long time! brilliant! 🙂

A friend at work has an Oscar party each year and girls come in their wedding dresses 🙂

i’m totally not planning on just wearing my dress once. it’s short, so while i might look a little silly, i will make my fi take me to a fancy anniversary dinner so it can get some more wear. if it still fits.

Send me an invite- I’d totally do that. Great first post! Welcome. 🙂

I just pictured my girlfriends and I walking around my house in our wedding gowns for a party… and we can barely fit & keep knocking stuff over! Maybe try it on every year on our wedding anniversary – it can remind me to stay the same size through the years!

I love the party idea! I was planning, since it’s a fairly simple dress, to have it shortened to knee-length into a cocktail dress! And then I’d just have to find somewhere to wear my very fancy, white, short dress.

I think it’s a great idea! I’m too sentimental to part with mine, so I know I won’t be selling it! The scene from “Friends” came to mind when I read this…the one with Monica, Phoebe and Rachel all sitting around in wedding dresses watching TV and drinking beer! Love it!

LOL! I was planning on wearing mine for my 1-yr anniversary (and any subsequent anniversaries provided it fits) but I like your idea so much better!

This is soo funny. I like this idea, but I am not sure if I would be able to fit in it. It fits like a glove and is made to my exact measurements! How I’ve remained the same size long enough for my wedding day is a mystery =) haha

I plan on getting a short dress so I can wear it again 🙂

That’s a fantastic idea. I have friends who used to do this with prom dresses (or thrift store prom dresses, seeing as how none of us are high-school-sized anymore), but this is an even greater idea. I love it.
