    Why the starvation diets before the wedding? I am tired of going to weddings and seeing my friends frail and listless. I am a proponent of healthy eating and exercise...just don't kill yourself. My best friend looked like an Auschwitz victim(Obviously didn't tell her that). Her breast and back bones were jutting out=not attractive. Stay healthy fellow bees.

    Yeah, I don't get it either!  Aren't you supposed to look like yourself on your wedding day anyway?  I want to look my best, but starvation is never the answer!  I think sometimes brides lose a ton of weight from stress, without meaning to.  That sucks.

    I'm not losing a ton of weight, but I am losing a bit unintentionally, from being too busy to eat as much as I usually do + working out consistently + drinking tons of water.  The plus side is I'm at my trimmest since grad school, when I walked 3-5 miles a day!

    Yeah that's bad. I didn't starve myself (i like food too much) but I was trimmed and toned from going to the gym and eating healthy (yet still splurging)

    Still carrying 5 extra pounds poist-wedding but I'm ok with it!

    I don't get it either, and it definitely will not be me. I'm thin to begin with, but I'm at a healthy weight right now, and really don't want to lose any more for the wedding. Maybe 3-5 lb. I love food too much to starve myself for ONE DAY.

    I couldn't starve myself even if I tried.  I loooove food!  I'm just using the wedding as an excuse to tone up and stay healthy.  I've lost 10 pounds in the last year since I got engaged and feel much healthier, but am in no way too skinny!

    I plan on being in good shape for the wedding, just not gaunt. Glad other bees feel the same way.

    you remind me of the wedding gown models in magazines...nobody *really* wants to look like that, unless you're a naturally lithe ballerina. You can just kinda tell when somebody naturally has that willowy slender structure versus has someone that has starved themselves to be that slender.

    Not to mention that with the first sip of a frozen drink on your honeymoon, you will immediately gain like 11 lbs :op

    I have lost a little bit of weight from stress, and I just usually lose weight in the summer. But I agree, these boney brides look like hell. I wouldn't wanna look like a skeleton in my wedding photos. Plus, my fiance proposed to me when I was a healthy weight, what if he doesn't want to marry a bag of bones!!

    I wish I could just tone up my arms a bit though. I am too afraid to lift weights because my arms can bulk up real fast. They are prone to being very muscular, but not looking very toned. They just look fat to me ;__;

    It's stressful!! I want to be the most beautiful on my wedding day, but you are right about starvation NOT being the way. I did special k diet (essentially staring yourself) when I first got engaged to shed some bulk but it's not sustainable!

    Now I signed up for a half marathon with some friends and this will be the way I shape myself for the big day. Do it the healthy way, gotta be a sexy bride AND a sexy wife :)
