Yes we had a few super-unresponsive people. I never realized how often people move around until I had to get everyone’s addresses for my wedding invites. Usually after about a week and a couple of follow ups, people would finally respond. It takes about 5 seconds to tap out an address.

I don’t know why it’s so difficult, but it is. I’m lucky I got a lot of family members’ addresses from my brother’s guestlist years prior. But the ones that were left to get were a nightmare! If the guest themself didn’t respond, I started messaging their family members which helped sometimes.

Is this something other people can help you gather? Your mom, your bridesmaid’s etc.? For the people who are being unresponsive, is there a work-around way to get their address? Like, ask their sibling or ask someone who would send them a Christmas card or who probably invited them to something else in the past (another shower, wedding, etc.). For example, I had to ask my cousin for our grandpa’s girlfriend’s last name. Kinda a different situation, but for some reason they were being very slow to respond and I didn’t just want to say “Grandpa plus Fern.” Haha!

FMIL had an address list ready for me because a cousin had gotten married less than 6 months before our engagement so that was nice.  And most of the rest of our guests have been great about responding.  The worse are my family.  I have a few cousins I have called, e-mailed and facebooked with no response, so I know how you feel.  At this point I am done trying.  No response = no invite.

We had our parents take care of their lists, but it took some time for us to get addresses from our guests! We just ended up going down our list and texting most of our friends. Most people responded to that! If we couldn’t get a hold of them that way, we sent facebook messages or emails.

Sometimes you gotta call them individually to get addresses because otherwise they just ignore any requests  by email, text or facebook

Just gave everyone a personal phone call and asked “could you get back to me by next Thursday”

This worked out well for me.
