Why would someone take a picture of my house…?!

@Jw1724:  Do you have an unusually large snow drift? A cool tree? I took a picture of my neighbor’s house just earlier because the snow was piled atop their roof several feet high.

Is there a home for sale nearby? Are they taking pictures of the neighborhood?

Some real estate companies do it so that they can send you a postcard with your house on it, encouraging you to sell through them.

… oooooor someone in your household has a private investigator on their tracks. I would bet the second, actually, considering the snow storm.

@Jw1724:  Well it could definitely be something creepy but it could be totally innocent too.. My mum occasionally takes pics of peoples house if she like design or the colours etc (she’s an interior designer.. and granted, she does usually ask permission).

Did you get a number plate? You could always ring the police and just give them the cars details just to be on the safe side. If it is something dodgy they might have had other reports too.

@Jw1724:  Very strange. Is it possible that it wasn’t people from Google filling in their street view? I feel like usually that is a car with a camera on top of it and not a black pickup though.

@Jw1724:  Calm down.  I’m an architect, I take pictures of people’s house all the time.  They probably just liked something about your house.

ETA: Even if you are on google maps they update the maps frequently it’s not a one time only deal.

Is it really pretty? Maybe they’re putting the picture on instagram with #winterwonderland #beautifulhouse #dreamhouse #somanyhastags

@Jw1724:  Which is more likely? A stalker taking note of your home in the middle of the day? An organization/person taking photo of the home for business/personal reasons?

I’d call the local police department and let them know what happened in case others have similar reports.  I’m in NH too and if this happened to me I would NOT be happy.

Maybe it’s a reporter taking photos of all the snow for the paper or news station?
