Dear classified ad posters, please stop posting ads either without pictures, without prices or without numbers of how many of each item you have.
More then half of these that I open have vague, amibigious descriptions. Yes, I get it – it is a lace wrapped vase – but if you don’t have a pic of them I am not going to waste my time asking for one.
I also don’t have time to wait for fifty emails back and forth to find out you have forty of something and you want $25 a piece.
Which brings me to my next point – If I can buy it at save-on-crafts.com, Micheals, David’s Bridal, Etsy, the dollar store, etc etc etc – FOR THAT SAME PRICE OR LESS then what you are selling it for then I am not even bothering to ask you to lower your price.
Yes, weddings are expensive but I am not willing to pay full price for something when I don’t have the ability to contact the Better Business Bureau if you give me a raw deal, everything shows up broken, or some other waste of my money. The *used once* line means zip to me. Of course it was used once – it’s wedding decor. If you aren’t linking to you business insurance agency then I am not hearing it.
I get that you paid a lot of money for them. Unfortunately, I have zero sympathy if you paid full price or how many style websites it can be seen on or any of that garbage. I literally could care less if David Yurman designed and then gifted to you all of the decor. If I can buy the same (or near same thing) elsewhere – why would I buy it from you at the same price + shipping and handling.
Also, I don’t care if it is handmade. 98% of the time it’s in the wrong color or looks like something my 7 yr old neice brings home from art camp. If I want to laugh at handmade, overpriced atrocities I will go spend an hour on Regretsy.com.
And finally to the ‘sponsered’, ‘commercial’, and ‘corporate’ sellers. I don’t want to see your ads. I have repeatedly asked for a filter to make it so I can see what REAL BRIDES have for sale but the admins refuse to implement. Fine. But I hate that I have to comb through 40 pages of personalized hangers and ‘professional quality’ wedding dresses just to find a bride who is desperately trying to recoup some cash after she said her ‘I Do’s’. If I wanted to buy from your COMPANY I would go to your website. End of story.
A chick looking for cheap decor from a decent seller.
P.S. If you are thinking about posting your items for sale after your wedding – hows about you not pick wedding colors/themes that have yet to be named. Yes – you are a unique and beautiful snowflake but if you want a unique wedding don’t expect me to buy your cardbox shaped liked a super mario princess painted in camo with rhinestone accents. No. Thanks.
