They looked soooo good. But they $185 price tag did not. It isn't that I can't afford them, I just can't justify spending that for a pair of jeans I'll only wear for three months. And my husband was with me and he was like "WTF! $185!" I've just started looking for "real" maternity pants/jeans-I've been wearing my pants with the bella band, but as of this week I think I'm offically out of my own clothes. I guess I'm sticking with leggings because after those jeans, everything else looked like frump city.

If anyone is pregnant and you want to look hott -I totally recommend getting a pair of seven for all mankind maternity jeans. I mean, they were killer. Did anyone see the episode of 30 Roc where Liz gets her new jeans? Yes. They looked that good. I was crying when I put them back. lol!

Why not get them and use them for the next pregnancy, too? That would validate spending that much if you will be wearing them more than just these next 3 months, right? ;)

Check ebay for them!  No reason to subject yourself to frump just because you've got a baby on board.  You might be able to find the same or a really similar pair for like, next to nothing.  I do almost all my shopping on ebay.  And any chance you'll be pregnant again within the next five years or so?

There are currently 82 Seven for all Mankind maternity pants listings on ebay! Check it out. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=seven+for+all+mankind+maternity&_sacat=0&_odkw=seven+for+all+mankind&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

I would use Ebay. Either buy them on ebay if you don't mind gently used clothes or buy them in the store and sell on Ebay when you are done to recoup some of the costs. You have to be careful of knock-offs but there are plenty of tutorials on how to spot them.

edit: VeganGlam and I had the same idea ;)

I just started my maternity jean search, and it is not pretty.  Why must they look so frumpy and be so expensive??  I've been using the bella band, but I'm reaching the point where maternity pants would be more comfortable.

I don't think I've ever spent $185 on any outfit, much less a single piece of clothing! But I do feel your pain on the cost of maternity clothes that you can only wear for a few months. I've definitely been using ebay and a second hand maternity/baby store in my town to get some great maternity clothes for a fraction of the price. Feeling like I am looking good really makes a difference in my mood day to day.

I think you should get them. If you wear them everyday (which you might!) for the next 90 days, you'd have paid $2 per wear for them. I think it's totally worth it. Plus you might want to wear them after the birth, since nobody pops back to normal instantly....and you could wear them for future pregnancies or sell them on ebay afterwards. :)

Thanks girls! I looked on ebay last night and they didn't have my size. Well, they did but not for a good price. I'll just have to suck it up, and pray that I fit into my non maternity seven's after the baby. lol!

In the 3 boxes of maternity clothes that I got from friends there was a pair of these.  I wore them every single time that I didn't have to dress for work.  They were that awesome.  I wore the crap out of them.  I asked my friend why in the world she spent so much on maternity jeans and she said that she found them for $30 at a maternity consignment store!

They are teh awesome, so if you can't find them gently used or on ebay consider forking over the cash.  I think they were the only thing that made me feel like I looked good during pregnancy!

You'll also be wearing them possibly for a couple months after you have your baby :)

@flamingred: You know what you should do?  You can bookmark a search and have them send you a daily digest via email.  Just type in the brand and select your size and any other details you want to limit it to, then check "save this search" to the right of the search bar and when it takes you to the new page, have them send you the digest.  It'll just take a few seconds for you to look over it every day, and you may come across a deal!  You might also want to consider a few other premium denim brands.  Have you ever worn or tried on any others? I've never been pregnant, but I would tend to agree with Mrs. DG that having a good pair of jeans, or pants, or some other versatile clothing item, could make a HUGE difference in how you feel about the way you look each day.  I'm a huge fan of cost per wear calculations.  Consider how much wear you'd get out of them, and how good you'll feel in them.  For most people, jeans are the sort of thing that have a ridiculously low cost per wear amount, just because they're so durable and can be worn in so many circumstances!

I honestly have come across pretty much everything I ever wanted on ebay.  I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true.  I just bought a perfect, new $1000 gown for my e-pics for $100, for example.  I wouldn't give up on it!  The digest is such a useful idea.

Awesome! I'll try the daily digest! I'm not a very experienced ebay shopper so all tips are appreciated! Aaaaand... I might also go back and get the jeans. I don't know-if my husband had not been with me I'm pretty sure I would have bought them. lol! That's the one bad thing about sharing a bank account-now I can't hide my shopping splurges! haha!

I bought the Paige Denim maternity jeans (similar price tag) and wear them practically every day.  Granted, I've been wearing mine with the bella band until recently so I could wear them a lot longer and I know I'll wear them as I try to get back to pre-pregnancy shape too so I justified the price tag to myself.  Good luck finding yours on sale.  At least it is holiday season and sometimes it is easier to find sales and coupons.

Do you have any baby/maternity consignment stores? That might be a good place to find something like that locally.

I'm planning on spending not a lot on actual maternity wear. If it's hideous it'll keep me motivated to not stay in it for long after the baby.

If you can afford it, i fully support you going back and buying them. It will be worth it. You want to feel your best these next few months and you can definitely wear them right after baby or during subsequent pregnancies. Or sell them. Tell your husband you just can't stop thinking of them and you won't buy a single other pair of jeans (bc you won't need to- and if you think about it, 2-3 less expensive pairs will add up to 1 good pair!) and plus, you are the one whose body is changing and who will be pushing the baby out, so you deserve good jeans!!! I fully intend to buy a pair of seven or citizens maternity jeans when the time comes. go for it!! :)

I've been on a crazy search for maternity jeans, but I've also been too cheap to pay that price.  I have to say, though, I feel so much better when I look cuter & if those jeans do that for you, then maybe you should splurge.  It's not something I'm able to do, but if you can then go for it!  BTW, the one pair of maternity jeans that I do own (they are from Old Navy and I got them on eBay for a few dollars) I've been wearing every single day.  So, if you do that with the Seven jeans you'll surely get your monies worth. :)

Ha! Love "30 Rock" and that was a great episode!

If you can't find them gently used as PP suggested, one thing to think about is that you might wear the jeans post-baby for a few months and then you can sell them to a consignment shop.

    Ebay?!?!

I'd totally justify them--but I'm already a pro at justify jeans since I have to special order the length--and I can wear jeans every stinkin' day to work and I'd rather have one awesome pair of pants and wear the HELL out of them.

    What about Gap?

Realistically, you'll probably wear them a couple months post baby anyways! And i loved that episode of 30 Rock!

Just buy them...and then don't buy ANY MORE PANTS

I tend to pay a lot for jeans because- as my sister says- consider "cost per wear."  I spend $100-200 on my True Religions, but they are worth it because I wear the living life out of them.  If they make you feel good, maybe they are worth it ;)

    (like veganglam said!)

Why not get a pair of them second hand and then resell? Seems like a no-brainer!

I would go for it. I bought 1 pair of Motherhood jeans and regret it. I should have bought the expensive ones. These ones are CRAP! I spend half my day yanking them up even with a Bella Band and I'm 8 months pregnant. Seriously, go for the expensive ones!

@crayfish: It does seem like a no brainer. But I'm totally lazy and I KNOW they will sit in my closet for the rest of my life. Plus not a lot of people are a size 24/25 in pregnant pants. I can't even get the good second hand stores to take my non maternity clothes because they say they are too small. And once I went to this place called Plato's Closet, and they told me my clothes were too nice. Um...wtf? You don't want a Besty Johnson dress? LOL!

@flamingred: Haha I hate Plato's Closet! They have done that to me too! Where are you from? I didn't know they were a chain, unless we're from the same place! Totally buy the jeans. And then keep them for any subsequent pregnancies. If not, wear them on Thanksgiving every year!
