I just got Wii Active and I was wondering if anyone else out there is doing it? If so any good results? I have the 30 day shred, but it's to easy for me to stop in the middle of it.  If you are doing Wii Active you must finish the whole workout for it to count.

I Wii Fit also and the hula hoop is pretty intense.  My abs hurts so bad the next day.

Lol. Its definitely a work out. I was skeptical of how much working out you could really do with a video game but it rocks!

We have Wii active and plan on starting soon (I busted my knee on Sunday).

Is the hula hoop thing Wii Active or Wii Fit??

Oh sorry to hear about your knee. Frown You will defintely want it to be all healed before you start the Wii Active. Most of the workout is "running" on the track or doing lunges and squats so you will defintely feel the burn.

The hula hoop is on Wii Fit.  I know that Wii Active is coming out with an expansion pack on Nov. 17th to target abs.

Good luck and let mek now how you like it. I started doing the 30 day challenge on hard yesterday and my thighs are killing me today.

I have used Wii Active quite a bit...just kinda fell off the bandwagon, lol.  My guy went out and got another leg strap and band so we can work out together. We have done things like basketball and volleyball together and it's a blast.  I have my first fitting in 2 months so I am hoping to get started soon!!

    I love the boxing!!!

@WDWBride: Did you see any good results from doing it? I am really hoping to lose some weight and I was hoping this was the answer :)

I don't think I did it long enough, consistently but I felt it!!! It felt like a really good workout and I love that I can customize it AND my man can work out with me :) You are making me really excited to get back on it! Maybe we can be Wii Active workout buddies!

I have a Wii that sits under my TV. I played it a few times after I got it & since then it's collecting dust!  Should I pick up Wii Active/ Wii Fit? Is it worth it? Have any of you used this to replace your regular workouts? :)

I'm going to keep watching this thread!

I haven't used Wii Fit but Wii Active can get really tough!!  I like that it measures how well you do and tells you to improve (and how) or keep up the good work. There are some excercises I skip because of my knees but I can still get a great workout!

@WDWBride: We should totally be Wii Active buddies.  That way I have someone to answer to when I have no motivation to do it haha. I HATE inline skating. Seriously I think my trainer is trying to kill me when she picks it. Tonight is day 2 of the 30 day challenge on hard. Only 28 more days to go...haha easier said than done. I can't wait to fit in my "skinny jeans"!

@RecessionistaBride: If you are looking to have fun I would say Wii Fit, but if you are looking for a serious my legs are going to fall off kinda deal I would buy Wii Active.  The only real complaint I have about the Wii Active is the resistance band they give you. It is not strong enough to really make you feel the burn. I went to Target and bought a resistance band that was either hard or medium.

Ok I refuse to do the inline skating!! It's so hard and it's a killer on me knees. I totally take that out of my workouts!! I do like the volleyball though..something different!

I've never done the volleyball before. Hmm I wonder why I haven't gotten that option yet. I didn't do it last night. :( We are having some family medical problems right now and we got some bad news so working out was not in the cards. I plan on doing it tonight though. I am asking my husband to get me the expansion pack for Christmas. Maybe I can swindle it out of him before Christmas and let you know how it goes!

I only found the fun stuff like Volleyball when I tried my own custom workout. So I think the idea is to stick to the 30 day challenge but on off-nights if you want to try something, do volleyball or basketball!!

I will have to try them out when I don't feel like doing a million squats and lunges. According the the trainer though, "my thighs will be thanking me for this"

I just started Wii Active last weekend and LOVE it. We also have Wii Fit and even though that is a lot of fun, Wii Active is by far a MUCH better workout. So far, its the best thing I've found to keep me motivated. I haven't been doing it long enough to see results yet but I can definitely feel it after each workout!

I love Wii Active!  It is a great workout- there are points where I am sassing back to my tv trainer- and I typically spend at least an hour at the gym.  The workouts make me do things that I might not do on my own at the gym.  Just wish it had more ab work.  The only thing I tend to skip is the two laps of those kick ups, I don't think I do them right.  For those who had hurting knees- halfway through the second time my knees finally stopped aching.  Also agree with the pp about the resistance band- go out and get a better one, the one in the active snapped apart fairly easily.

@lkbphmd: I'm so glad that there are more and more bees doing Wii Active. I was yelling at the trainer tonight.  I did my second day of the 30 day challenge on hard..and it was exactly that..hard.  They are coming out the expansion pack on the 17th for the abs.

The example they show you for the kick ups are wrong.  You basically have to hop to each leg kicking up like you are running. So basically it's just running in place.

I actually skip the resistance band and got free weights.  Some exercises it's hard to hold the wiimote and the weights but I like it better.

So this has nothing to do with Wii Active, but I had to share. I have been really trying to control what I eat and at lunch I had a salad like always. Well I was CRAVING McDonalds. The rush came over me I pulled up in the drive-thru and then backed out and left! I beat the craving! Oh phew just had to get that off of my chest. :)

I am looking to buy a Wii in the very near future (hopefully the FI and I will get off our rears and get one!) Could someone explain the difference between Wii Active and Wii Fit?

I bought wii fit because my cousin swears by it. It's been in the box upstairs ever since and that was about 4 months ago. I suppose it's time for me to try this sucker out. But....weight...it weighs you? Is this something fiance might see when he goes walking by? Oye. I haven't been on a scale in a few years. I know I won't like what I see and I don't think he would either. LOL

Ohh, I love my Wii Fit!  It's not going to make me lose all of my wedding weight, but I do like to use it as a motivational tool, especially since your Mii gets smaller and smaller and it stops playing the obese music at you!  I get on the scale and then get on the Wii to have it congratulate me for losing weight :)

I really like the Wii Fit and the Wii Active. I have both and of the two, I'd say that the Wii Active is a better workout. I don't think I'm actually losing weight because it's hard for me to lose weight (I'm not very big to begin with) but I do think it helps me tone up and stuff. I would like to lose a little weight, though so hopefully it will eventually happen.

Go Emily, beating that craving! I have both, love them both, but have ot been able to do them in a few months due to renovating our new home. But, I really do love them and do feel it after, so I hope that means they work. :) Thanks for informing me of the abs add-on, I did not know that, it's going on the XMas list!

I have Wii Fit and Wii Active and while I enjoy both of them I think that Wii Active is a better work out. I lost probably about 10 pounds when I was doing it consistently, but then I got sick and feel off the bandwagon.

@stlginkgo- the differences between Wii Fit and Wii Active are pretty big. Wii Fit has individual excercises that you choose to do yourself, yoga, cardio, balance and strength. It's fun but it can get boring and for me it didn't do much for my modivation. Wii Active has individual excercises that it builds into a program for you. It has a 30 day challege where you have a workout 2 days on and 1 day off, you can customize workouts to target certain areas. It's pretty cool, and I hear that an expansion pack for abs is coming out soon which would be my one criticism of Wii Active.

I have both too. I got Wii Fit for my bday a month ago, and I just bought Wii Active the day after Christmas. Wii Active is definitely way harder, but a better workout. I really like the boxing. Not a huge fan of the running in place, so I guess it's good that you can customize.

I have the Wii fit plus, I only just got it on boxing day with my Wii Fit balance board!! I have been doing it for 4 days now, making sure I do an hour, as the half hour I cant feel the results. I think tho, on your girls raves about the active I will get that!
