kaleidoscope: The lower karat gold will scratch the higher karat gold because 18k is softer than 14k, so over time, it will wear away at your engagement ring which is softer. I highly recommend getting the same materials for both rings, so definitely get 18k for your wedding band.

Blue Nile looks really good and does deliver to Australia.

Most Etsy sellers also deliver to Australia.

What’s your budget?

I have a 14k Ering and 18k wband, I’ve been told the same thing but I don’t think it will that big of deal in the long run.

Depending on what band your more worried about protecting you could get a 18k spacing band between the Ering and Wband to protect the Ering

kaleidoscope: I live in Sydney and walked into a local jeweler yesterday who had most gold and white gold 18k bands under $350. Depending on what you would like. If you want a diamond band it will cost more, but for a plain gold band at a small town jeweler you can definitely find something for $200-$400.
