So…. I want cool wedding shoes. I’ve looked at high end, low end, and everything in between, and nothing has really grabbed me as “THE PAIR!” I want a pair I can wear again and look back on as an awesome style statement. Also, my FI’s last name is Ivy, so I’ve been looking at floral options that are a bit funky. So……. enter this pair today. Vintage Manolos, in my wedding colors (greens and dark reds). Aren’t they so fun!!!??? BUT, will I regret getting such a crazy pair? I am ok with a bit of silliness, but I don’t want to look back and regret. Tell me HONESTLY what you think! I would wear the ties wrapped around the ankle, not stripper-style up the leg :).

They look slightly ridiculous to me. I instantly thought of a Christmas elf on Dancing with the Stars.

Not something I’m into… but I say wear what you love! You can always get a pair of more traditional heels for pictures and wear those just because!

Woobee: If you are wearing a floor length dress, your shoes will hardly be visible. People will see the toes when you lift your dress to walk and of course you will have the mandatory shoe pic.
I think they will be cute, and way better than Converse, Toms etc. At least it will look like you dressed up for the day.

Those are pretty darn awesome in my opinion (and given a last name of Ivy)!! And, like julies1949 said – if the dress is floor length, no one’s gonna see, so you can wear whatever shoes you like!

Being honest, those are more befitting a rockette’s Peter Pan performance.
How about a boss pair of Ted Baker heels? You could wear them again after the wedding too!

If you love them, then get the ivy shoes with the berries and rock the ivy shoes with the berries…who care what we think lol

As Tim Gunn likes to say, “If that’s the look you’re going for, you did a good job!”
I love unusual shoe options … one of my favorite shoe pics ever was of Mrs. Bacon’s “ruby red slipper” Toms under her ballgown on the blog. But these are definitely different. Not something I’d ever wear, but if they make you happy, go for it.

I’d likely get tired of the little dangling bits getting caught on my dress.

Well, they are your colours, you really like/ love them and I don’t see how (unless they’re really uncomfy or pricy) you could regret your wedding shoes. They’re not my taste but I’m sure there are a lot of things I love that look odd to others.

MrsBuesleBee: I love those!!!

Disclaimer, I have not actually purchased these. I just saw them for sale online and have been pondering them. I totally agree with all the opinions stated above. I KNOW they are ridiculous and silly, which is a bit what I want. I think that they will actually look pretty elegant and fashion-forward with my dress, especially as they won’t generally be visible. The kicker is that they are quite expensive (ltd. edition never worn runway pair from the 70s). I wish I could try them on and really get a look at them on my feet to judge the potential tackiness!! I want something remarkable, but not ridicule-able.
For reference, here is my dress (Marchesa Spring 2014):
I want strappy sandals, since the dress is so light and airy. I’m going to add a fluffy tulle crinoline to get a bit more volume and balance out my broad shoulders (this is the first fitting, hence the fit issues around the bust, etc). We are having an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception in a glass-walled pavillion, all with an upscale garden-y vibe (think lots of florals and greenery). So, MrsBuesleBee:, I LOVE the print you found, but I don’t think a peep-toe pump is the style I’m going for. There are some D&G heels that actually have a quite similar print! I’ll post them and some other’s I’m looking at…..
The last pair is Oscar de la Renta and was my dream wedding shoe until I polled the Bee and found out that they are horribly uncomfortable 🙁

rachel85: LMAOOOOO Tim Gunn.
Not sure if he would commend me for this look “making it work!”

Woobee: they are hella cool, but I personally wouldn’t wear them for the wedding. Maybe if they were in white or something? but seriously, if you want to wear them on your day, who cares what internet strangers think? rock them girl! 🙂

Woobee: Honestly? I dont like them… I much prefer the other 4 pairs you posted over the top pair! I think you can find something unique and much more stylish:)
