Im looking for ur opinion. Ive ordered a sophia tolli dress (allanah) ive ordered a smaller size as i wanted motivation to lose weight. Which i have done. Ive lost over a stone. I have my final fitting in 2 weeks and on the website it says the size 12 measurements are: bust 39inch, waist 32inch and hip 41 1/2 inch. The dress is a dropped waist and corset back. I currently measure Bust: 38, waist: 32 and hips: 42 1/2 inch. So my waist and hips are an inch too big. Do u think i will still fit into the dress??? I plan to lose another 5lbs before the fitting??
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

@michelle26_manchester: It’s impossible to say really. I find that measurements aren’t always accurate, plus different styles come up differently.
You might find that because of the style it’s snug on the hips; however, if you plan to lose more weight that should fix that, and failing that, I’m sure they’d be able to let it out very slightly as we’re only talking an inch, which is nothing.
You may also need the bodice taking in; you might find it comes up a bit big.

@michelle26_manchester: I agree there is no way for us to really know since some dresses style will make things feel a little roomier or a little tighter. The measurements are usually just a guideline to use in ordering- most gowns need some alterations. Surely you’ve discussed this weightloss/ ordering small with your seamstress? She would know best.

An inch isn’t too bad. If it’s a bit too snug, a good pair of spanx or something similar can usually loosen things up by that much.
