i am having a Vintage inspired wedding, my bridesmaids are wearing Audrey Hepburn style dresses and i am carrying a vintage brooch bouquet, wearing a vintage headpeice and jewelley, but i am now wondering if my dress will actually fit in with the vintage look i am trying to achieve, because i decided on my dress before i decided on the vintage theme.
i THOUGHT it would be OK but now i am not so sure, and i dont want my briesmaids to not look right standing next to me…….
my bridesmaids are wearing the same style dresses, but in 4 different colours.
the colours i am not 100% sure about yet, but as its a beach wedding then i want them to look bright and cheery, maybe yellow, lilac , peach etc. 🙁
the saving grace is i havent got the bridesmaids dresses yet, but mine is on order, so i will be wearing that for definate.if i keep having these doubts i may have to re-think what my girls will wear.
Here is mine, but i am having mine made in Champaigne gold not Ivory like the picture. and below are the girls dresses…..

I’m having a vintage inspired wedding as well. I think it mostly depends on the era of vintage that you’re trying to have.
If it’s 20s, art deco theme vintage, then I don’t think that would be the dress.
However, if you’re going for a more romantic ethereal vintage feel, then I would say that your dress is perfect.
P.S. You may want to put up a poll.

Yeah at first glance, I was a little unsure as well, since I had 20s vintage in my head. But I think it could work! It certainly is a beautiful design.

my viintage feel is more 40s – 50s really. yes romantic.
but so worried that the BMs dresses wont match up.
i would be interested in what you are wearing, do you have any pics?

It’s a swell dress, but I don’t think it works well with your theme. That’s my opinion though. I’m also a perfectionist.

I think your dress is beautiful- and the bridesmaids dresses are cute too… but I dont think they fit with eachother. I think you can keep the theme but change their dresses to something else and you’ll be fine.

Honestly, no. Your dress is romantic modern, the bridesmaids dresses are classic vintage. Maybe rework your theme a little, if it will really bother you.

yeah thats what i am thinking, i love both dresses, but dont really think they go together…..Hmmmmmm

@anne B: My theme is more of an urban vintage (with peacock accents). I recently had my dress custom made mixing Cosmobella 7413 and Maggie Sottero Savannah, but am debating if I should just stick with the original design of the Cosmobella dress. In any event, here is Cosmobella 7413. *Sorry it’s so big*
P.S. I LOVE your dress!
I would definitely not put your dress with the BM dresses you have picked out. The dresses that I have picked out for my girls are these:

I would stick with your wedding dress but change the bm dresses.
These are from Alfred Sung and also have the Hepburn look, but with different shape than the one you’ve selected.

YES YES YES they are great! i love them all and the different colours look great!
yeah its very Audrey, yet simple, and really they could wear it again .
YSQueen, i love your dress and bridesmaid dreses too……and i may just steal your peacock idea, my parents surname was Peacock and i think it might be quite fitting , they are both deceased and it would be a nice way to have them be part of my day.
looking at the wedding dress it is a little similar in style to mine…..a tiny bit. short train and side pick-up.
thanks so much for your opinions, i wouldnt have asked if i was sure about them myself, and i appreciate the honesty…..i am not the kind of person to ask a question and be upset by the answer.
i will definately be looking for the above dresses! 🙂

i have looked on the alfred sung website and found this…i like it because it has the look i am after, (minus the bow at the front) with the same frill around the neck to my own dress

anne B I like this new dress you just posted. I think those would work much better.

@anne B: I think that BM dress would coordinate very well with yours!
