Good morning bees! I just found out this morning that a very close cousin (we were even roommates for 2 years during grad school) is pregnant! I’m so extremely happy for her! I’m just curious, though, if it’s likely she’ll be able to come to my wedding. The wedding is 9/1 and she is due 10/15. I will, of course, completely understand if she can’t make it… I hope I don’t sound selfish thinking about this 🙁

I don’t see why she can’t! I’ve had friends who had people who were 9 months pregnant come to their wedding. She’ll still have a month to go, I wouldn’t worry 🙂

@Beckster329: Do they live close by? If so she should be ok to come as long as there are no complications that would require her to stay off her feet.
If she has to fly, I’m not sure what the cut-off is for flying while pregnant but she might be too far along for that.

@KatNYC2011: She lives about a 6-hour drive or a 45-minute flight from the wedding location.

My mother went to my aunt’s wedding when she was 7 days overdue… She did have to leave before the reception as her waters broke though.

@Beckster329: Might depend on a whack of factors, like if she is having complications, if she can comfortably sit in a car for 45 minutes, if she is allowed to travel by plane, if her and her Darling Husband are comfortable travelling a month before the due date. I would love to say YES, but every pregnancy and comfort level during pregnancy (especially if this is the first) is different.
I hope she makes it!

May also depend on when your wedding is- if she has to take off work. One girlfriend won’t be able to come to our wedding because she’d been at her job less than a year, and doesn’t have much leave- new baby trumps old friend! 🙂
