I’m looking for some input: my wedding colors are plum and gold and the centerpieces will be gold lanterns but I just found out that my venue is changing all of the gold chiavari chairs to silver. Will this look bad with the gold? I don’t want chair covers and My sister suggested having off white linens so the chairs will look less bright than if I had a plum table cloth. I know I’m obsessing over such a small detail but I wanted to know your thoughts! Thank you!! 🙂

Can you change-out the lanterns to silver? Won’t the cutlery, on the table, be silver?
We’re doing black, gold, and white. The linens are white, bridesmaids in gold, centerpieces in gold, but we’ll be eating with silverware. (Don’t know what we’ll be doing with chair covers, yet).

I disagree with your sister. I would keep your plum linens. Although gold chairs would be my first choice for you, I think the silver chairs will look beautiful. I love mixing silver and gold. If the venue’s china is silver rimmed, or if you add some small, silver accents (votive holders or some other silver-toned elements etc.) to your centerpieces, I think it will look fantastc.

@MariaJim86: I think that mixing metallics like that is really trendy and modern these days. In my opinion, mixing gold and silver would look great together!

@MariaJim86: I think if you mix maybe think of adding a little bit of silver accents. Maybe silver votives or napkin rings just something small to maybe tie it all in. I don’t think it would be bad to mix or that people would notice just my prefrence that a few small silver accents would like nice mixed in!
