Hi Bees! I bought my dress for our little farm house wedding back in December and I’m still absolutely in love with it. My only problem is trying to accessorize the dang thing. I’ve always wanted to wear my hair down with a mantilla veil covering my head but my friends and family are saying it will look tacky with so much lace and I need some bling instead. What do you think?
This is my dress and a picture of the type of veil I would to wear

I think the mantilla veil will look amazing with that dress!
If blings not your thing, dont do the bling… Some people are pretty obnoxious about needing their bling… just ignore them! I love your lace!

I think it would look great with that dress. I don’t like the mantilla with blingy dresses but with yours it would look fantastic as would one coming down the back.

too much lace? impossible. i would not add even one bead of bling. go with the mantilla veil just like u want, it will look fabulous.

I think you should get the veil you want because I think it would match beautifully!

Thank you so much bees! Getting some outside opinions is reassuring. My family is very blingy and they say I will look plain and old lady like haha but I’ve always loved lace. Both my mother and mother in law are pushing for a sparkly belt which I’m actually debating. I just don’t want the belt to become the centerpiece instead of my dress or veil.

Your dress is so pretty on you! The lace around the face might compete with the neckline of your dress, but that doesn’t mean you give up your dream of that style of veil. You can wear a veil that has the lace around the bottom, beaded lace, or a caplet style that has just a touch of lace. Here are a few ideas!
Best of luck!

Your dress is stunning and the veil you like will look wonderful!

i would do the mantilla for the ceremony, no blingy belt – and then take the veil off and add the blingy belt for the dancing/party – nice way to switch up your look and everyone’s happy 🙂

I would absolutely recommend the mantilla!!!! Your dress hasn’t got that much lace (wouldn’t be too much!!) and I am sure it would look absolutely gorgeous with a lace mantilla. I would consider a bling veil tacky and a sash might ruin the beautiful line of your dress.. Go for what you have envisioned, it’s your Wedding and day to shine

I kind of thought a belt might ruin the clean line of this dress too but I don’t want to look washed out either. I guess I’ll have to just try some on and see! I did try a very thin jeweled belt which looked alright, definitely gave the dress more of a princess feel though. I think I’m going to go with the mantilla like I originally wanted, I hope it gives the soft romantic vibe I’m going for!

I agree with the other bees – the mantilla veil would probably look great! You won’t be blingy but if that isn’t your style anyway than who cares haha 🙂 The look you’re describing reminds me of Grace Kelly or Kate Middelton…very classy and classic, and never out of style!

I think the touches of lace in different parts of the dress help with not looking too simple. I agree with the bees that the veil will look lovely with your dress. You look amazing and the dress is very dreamy 🙂

I plan on wearing a mantilla with my lace dress as well. I also rejected the idea of a sparkly belt because I felt that it would take away from the beauty of my dress. Don’t feel like you need “bling” if you don’t like it. You’re a bride, not a disco ball. :p
