Hi, I’m new! I’ve actually been reading over posts for a few months now, but finally decided to register.
I’m so excited for my wedding but my BMs and MOH all live in a different states so besides my FH I have nobody to plan with.
My FH and I decided on an enchanted forest themed wedding, and we are having an outdoor reception. I just found a website that tells you what time the sun will set depending on the date and your location and found out that the sun isn’t supposed to set until 8:30 on our wedding day.
I really like the look of white lights all over the gazebo, but I don’t think we can start the ceremony that late, will it look ridiculous to still have the white lights if the sun is still up?

I think white lights will look pretty no matter what. We had our lanterns/candles going before the sun went down and I think it looked great. (Then the power went out, so not so great, but that is a whole different story 😉 )

Welcome! I think it will look great – you’ll still be able to see the lights, especially if they’re in a bigger bulb!

Welcome to you! We are putting up white lights at our after party back home and ours is in June. Xmas lights in June you say? Eh, I love them so I’ll have them! I don’t think it’ll look strange, as the sun sets, it’ll add to the ambiance.

Welcome to the Hive, Bladesgirl!
I don’t think it would look ridiculous at all. Actually, I think it would look romantic, even with the sun still up. Or, depending on what time you were having the ceremony, you could just hold off on lighting the candles until the reception was to begin.
Plus, you never know, it could be overcast (not stormy); the sun might not be shining brilliantly, which would give even more ambiance with the candles

Welcome to the Hive! So glad you joined us!
The lights will look totally a-okay even if the sun isn’t setting until later!

Welcome & congratulations on your engagement 🙂
I don’t think the lights will look ridiculous at all… think of how beautiful it will look during the transition of night! Go for it!

Thanks everyone! I feel better about it now, and hopefully the weather will be perfectly overcast but surprisingly warm!
