what we invited was about 70 % family, 30 % friends. Who will actually be able to make will probally be more like 50/50.

Hands down relatives. My father is 6 of 7 children( I’m the youngest of 13 cousins) and my mom’s side even though she is an only child is not much smaller than his. FI’s mom’s side is about the same size as well. FI’s dad’s side is the smallest coming in at 12 people. We’re inviting about 12 friends between the 2 of us and have a guest list of 150.

Mostly family for me… about 60% my family (I have four families), 25% FI’s family, and 15% friends.

I’m still in the waiting-for-the-ring stage, but we’ve discussed this for awhile now. We would have 20 guests max – all immediate family + spouses/kids. This is assuming we don’t just elope, which is a real possibility but would disappoint a few people.

For me, definitely friends. I have a very small family (excluding second cousins and beyond). My fiancé is the opposite – almost half of his side will be family (aunts, uncles, cousins).

we actually made it a priority to have an equal amount of friends and family there because we really wanted to have a fun reception and a party like feel.  Family is wonderful, but we have few cousins our age so most of the family is over 60.

Almost exactly 50% family and 50% friends and family friends (mostly his). We really wanted it to be a fun night and didn’t feel an obligation to invite family we don’t see or enjoy spending time with

We both have very small families who live on different continents! Some flew all the way for our wedding, but less than ~15% of our guests were relatives.

We both had our immediate family members and that’s all. We didn’t invite extended family members. I have a huge extended family that I never see or talk to so inviting one “branch” would mean inviting everyone. We essentially had about 2 tables of family members and 5 tables of friends and colleagues.
