@Mrs_Amanda:  I’m not religious at all, but I’ll see a religious-esque movie if it actually looks good and not just like religious propoganda.  Passion of the Christ, no way.  Narnia, heck yeah!  (I loved Narnia as a kid and totally didn’t pick up on the religious undertones until later.)

In this case, I’m a fan of the director and the cast, so I’d probably see it.  It looks like a cool epic movie that just happens to be about a religious figure.

I am not the least bit religious but FI and I talked about going to see this movie. The graphics look great!

@Mrs_Amanda:  I probably will Netflix it b/c Darren Aronofsky made it, and I love his work (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan). However, it doesn’t have the allure/pull to get me to shell out the $12/ticket to see it at the theatres.

I’m a lapsed Catholic, and I honestly don’t know enough of the Bible to know whether a movie would follow it word for word. I am very very lapsed, lol.

I didn’t even know Narnia was supposed to be something religious until after I had seen it. I just saw it as a fantasy movie! I don’t go see movies that are blatantly religious, no. I have absolutely no interest.

@MrsNewDay:  I’m pretty much where you are (even the lapsed Catholic bit!) – I’m a Darran Aranofsky fan, so I’ll see it. I expect the visuals will make it a great film to see on the big screen, but with a baby at home, we get out to movies so rarely…it requires extensive discussion and bargaining to fix on one.

To bring it ’round to a Christian perspective, this is why Jesus invented Netflix.

@Mrs_Amanda:  Being agnostic I really don’t consider the bible more than a story anyway so it wouldn’t sway me one way or the other from seeing it. I did see The Passion in the theater and was rather turned off by it. Maybe DH will want to see Noah. He’s Catholic.

I would probably go see it!

I am a Christian but I am one who takes the Bible as a guide to love Jesus and be a decent human (not necessarily meant to be taken 100% literally).  I would go see it for the story, you know?  Like, whether or not you believe it is real or an embellished story to make a point, or anything, its a cool story, like WALL-E is a cool story and so was the Hunger Games, etc. (Purely my opinion, but yeah.)

@Mrs_Amanda:  totally!  And the funny thing is, when I learned about Jesus a little after my mom first read The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe to me, I was like “Oh he came back to life like Aslan!”  Haha.

@Mrs_Amanda:  No way!  I am not a Christian, I walk a different path, but I respect and admire the religious beliefs of all people…cuz I rock like that.  I just hate Russel Crowe with the fury of a thousand suns, and unless he drowns in the bilge, gets trampled by an in arc stampede or gets scurvy…..the movie is going to be a let down for me.

I also did not see The Passion of the Christ, there was too much hype about it, I read that it was a grueling movie to watch and I see movies as an escape, as something fun…not something upsetting and exhausting to watch.

@Mrs_Amanda:  I do like Darren Aronofsky, but probably won’t see it. Russell Crowe doesn’t do it for me. I’m a Christian, but I’m Biblical movies really don’t float my boat at all either. My FH loves them, but I just find them super dry.

I’m not religious but if a movie looks good I’ll still see it.  No reason I can’t enjoy a good flix just because the story has religious roots.  Since I don’t believe in that religion it’s just like any piece of fiction from my view point.

In this case though, I saw the preview and it just didn’t interest me.
